Danang Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050: An important legal basis for sustainable development

DNO - Speaking at the announcement ceremony of the Da Nang City Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh emphasized that this is an important event for the city's development in the coming time, ensuring the successful completion of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 22nd City Party Congress.

According to the Chairman of the City People's Committee, implementing the Government 's direction, the People's Committee of Da Nang City always deeply understands the important role as well as focuses highly on the work of building the Da Nang City Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Planning Law and the new context.

This plan has a long-term vision to effectively promote the city's advantages; to serve as a scientific and practical basis for organizing territorial and socio -economic space and building 5-year and annual development plans to meet the general development requirements of the whole country.

Up to now, under the profound direction of the Government leaders; the attention and support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and other central ministries, departments and branches; the close coordination of localities in the region and valuable comments from experts, scientists, people and the business community, the Da Nang City Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, has been completed and approved by the Prime Minister in Decision 1287/QD-TTg dated November 2, 2023.

“This is an important legal basis to create a solid corridor for the sustainable development of the city in the coming time. At the same time, it is the foundation to continue exploiting and promoting the potential and strengths of the locality, ensuring the completion of growth targets in the right direction and achieving the highest efficiency in the shortest time”, emphasized Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh.

The Da Nang City Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, is developed and approved in a unified and synchronous manner with the National Socio-Economic Development Strategy, the National Strategy on Green Growth and Sustainable Development, in line with the orientation and policies in Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW dated November 3, 2022 of the Politburo on socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the North Central and Central Coast regions to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

At the same time, fully demonstrate the viewpoints and development orientations according to Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2019 of the Politburo on building and developing Da Nang city to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

In 2023, with the theme of the year being "The year of focusing on unlocking resources, attracting investment, maintaining economic growth and ensuring social security", Da Nang city has actively implemented key tasks and solutions to ensure the completion of targets.

The city’s economy continues to recover despite facing many difficulties and challenges, social security is ensured, national defense and security are maintained. The service sector continues to be a bright spot, contributing positively to the city’s overall growth.

Tourism activities continue to develop strongly, with attractive events and tourism products continuously organized, attracting a large number of tourists.

The city continues to promote investment promotion activities, approach and invite domestic and foreign investors to invest in the city. As of November 15, 2023, the city has newly issued and adjusted investment policy decisions and investment registration certificates for 40 projects with a total registered investment capital of nearly VND 47,000 billion, attracting nearly USD 200 million in FDI capital.

Based on the summary and evaluation of socio-economic results in 2023, the city is developing a socio-economic development plan for 2024.

The city planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister at this time is of great significance for the city to develop a suitable growth scenario; identify key targets and solutions for effective implementation in the coming time.

Expanding urban space and economic development space to create room for investment attraction.

On the basis of maximizing the exploitation of local internal resources, strongly attracting external resources, creating stronger growth momentum, more breakthroughs... so that the city can complete its socio-economic development goals in the new period.

In Decision No. 1287-QD/TTg dated November 2, 2023 of the Prime Minister, the goal for the city in the Da Nang City Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, is to become a large, ecological, smart, unique, sustainable urban area on par with the international level; maintain the role of a hub connecting and developing with the regional and international urban network as an international tourist center associated with an international event organization center, a high-tech industrial center, information technology, an innovative startup center, a regional-scale international financial center and a livable coastal city, reaching the level of the Asian region.

Implementing the Government's direction, the city has now publicly announced all approved planning contents to all levels, sectors, people and the business community for information and implementation.

At the same time, direct relevant agencies to urgently advise on developing a specific implementation plan for the planning content to be submitted to the Prime Minister for approval according to regulations.

To effectively implement and complete the approved goals in Decision 1287/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, the Party Committee and the City Government hope to continue to receive the direction of the Government leaders, the support and guidance of the Central agencies, especially the companionship of the people, the business community and investors.

“The city leaders pledge to make more efforts and determination in general direction and management; build a healthy, equal, transparent and public investment environment for businesses and investors to contribute ideas to implement projects in line with the goals of the Da Nang City Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050,” the Chairman of the City People's Committee expressed.
