Not just a simple sporting activity, the tournament carries a message of cooperation and friendship between the police force and local police, while contributing to promoting the image of a dynamic and friendly Vietnam to international friends. For Mr. Do Quang Hien - Chairman of the Board of Directors of SHB Bank, this companionship is more of a "civic honor" than an opportunity to show off the company's name. That is Mr. Hien's way of serving society with sincerity and responsibility.
Not many people know that before becoming a famous businessman, Mr. Hien was a soldier, graduated from Hanoi University of Science with a degree in physics and spent three months training as a reserve officer at the Artillery Officer School. It was this military background that fostered the spirit of "not being arrogant in victory, not being discouraged in defeat" - the guiding principle that helped him succeed in both the business world and the sports field.
Service is not just about football
While other football bosses impress with strong statements or hot bonuses, Mr. Hien chooses a quiet way: investing steadily, sponsoring seriously, and most importantly, spreading humanistic values. In the ASEAN Police Football Tournament, he not only provides sponsorship money, but also contributes to creating a playground with special political , foreign affairs, and cultural significance.
Mr. Hien's cooperation with the police force is also prominent through the model of the CAND T&T Table Tennis Club, which has achieved great success at the 2025 National Table Tennis Championship. With 3 gold medals and 3 bronze medals, Coach Vu Manh Cuong's team received a large bonus from Mr. Hien.

Behind those medals is a profound investment strategy, where Mr. Hien contributed to building training centers, recruiting athletes from all over the country and creating conditions for comprehensive development for young tennis players. In particular, he always emphasized the role of the public-private model in sports development, considering this a sustainable direction for the future.
Not only with strategy, Mr. Hien also inspires with kindness. The story of tennis player Le Dinh Duc is a touching example. In 2013, Duc suffered from a serious illness and was at risk of not being able to walk, let alone compete. Upon hearing the news, Mr. Hien did not hesitate to pay all the treatment costs - including special medicines worth more than 20 million VND - with the sole wish that "even if I do not compete in the future, I will still have to live like a normal person".
Fortunately, Duc not only recovered but also came back strongly, winning many achievements at the 2025 National Championship. That story goes beyond the limits of sport - it portrays a portrait of a boss who lives a kind life and puts people above achievements.
Rare remaining boss
Returning to football - where Mr. Hien is most widely known - he is one of the "last bosses" still standing since the socialization of football more than two decades ago.

He does not consider football as a temporary hobby but seriously invests in it like any other business field. Thanks to that, Hanoi Club (formerly Hanoi T&T) has become a symbol of systematic and sustainable development - something rare in a football scene as volatile as Vietnam.
From 2006, when his team was still in the Third Division, to 2009, it rose to the V.League, and in 2010, won its first national championship. Since then, Hanoi FC has won 6 V.League championships, 3 National Cups, 5 Super Cups and a series of titles in the youth ranks. That is the result of a 10-year, 20-year vision - not the "quick fix" approach of spending money to buy titles.
Under the guidance of Mr. Hien, Hanoi FC became the biggest player training center in Vietnam. Names like Quang Hai, Duy Manh, Van Hau, Hung Dung, Dinh Trong, Duc Huy... all came from here, and later became pillars of the national teams.
In the miracle of Changzhou 2018, at the AFF Cup 2018, SEA Games 2019 and even the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Vietnamese football always has a strong mark of the "furnace" Hanoi. Right at the recent ASEAN 2024 championship, this club also contributed 5 players, including captain Duy Manh.
Mr. Hien's point of view is very clear: "First, you play for yourself. Then for your family, the audience and finally for me." That is an educational philosophy that puts people at the center, and at the same time is a strong bond between a manager and the players.
Live kindly with football

Mr. Hien has no shortage of generous bonuses - 2 billion VND for the Vietnamese team after winning the 2024 ASEAN Cup - but what makes people respect him more is his lifestyle. For example, he hired a private jet to take the players' families to Thailand to cheer on the team, simply because he wanted his players to play with peace of mind.
He also provided financial support to purchase the copyright for the 2022 World Cup and accompanied National Assembly Television in broadcasting the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup - something that not many businesses are willing to do without a true love for football.
In Mr. Hien, people see a rare combination of passion, responsibility and vision. He is not only a successful businessman, a skillful sports manager, but also an exemplary citizen, willing to contribute wholeheartedly to the good values of society. In the world of sports, there are not many people like him - and even rarer when they are still devoting themselves and dedicating themselves every day.
