On August 27, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center said it is continuing to organize solutions to strengthen the protection of relics and artifacts under its management.

Recently, with the agreement of the Hue City People's Committee, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center has developed a plan to preserve and protect artifacts and architectural works at relic sites in the Hue Monuments Complex.

Specifically, in the coming time, the center will adjust and add hard or soft fences and tempered glass at some locations to limit the range of contact, ensuring the safety of artifacts and the sanctity of the relic.

For example, the area of the Nine Cannons; the place displaying bells, drums and the main door in the middle of Ngu Phung tower; the bronze cauldron system; some architectural works belonging to Gia Long King's tomb, Minh Mang King's tomb, Khai Dinh King's tomb, Dong Khanh King's tomb...

At the same time, the center will adjust, divide traffic and tour routes at a number of architectural works and relic sites.

At the The To Temple relic (Hue Imperial Citadel), where 10 Nguyen Dynasty kings are worshiped, to ensure solemnity, the center will adjust the plan to receive visitors inside; only allowing visitors from the outside with a plan to place a fence outside the shrine, only opening the middle doors of The To Temple.

The Hue Monuments Conservation Center has arranged an altar in front of The To Temple for visitors to offer incense; at the same time, it organizes an exhibition to introduce, provide information and images about the monument, serving religious needs and creating conditions for visitors to learn about the history and architecture of the building.

At Minh Thanh Palace (Gia Long King's tomb), the center will adjust the plan for visiting the palace's interior in groups of up to 10 people, with polite attire. In case visitors' attire is not suitable, the center will provide ao dai for visitors to wear.

Currently, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center is assigned to manage 43 relic sites, of which 22 relic sites have many artifacts on display and exhibition. Of these, 12 artifacts/sets of artifacts (with 38 individual artifacts) are recognized as national treasures. The protection of relics is always focused on with a modern and suitable security and monitoring system; the protection and preservation of artifacts meet scientific standards and ensure the purpose of promoting heritage values.

However, there are more and more factors and risks that can affect and damage historical monuments and artifacts. These risks come from many causes such as the impact of extreme weather, the risk of fire and explosion, or natural degradation over time, especially unintentional and intentional human impacts (such as the incident where the throne in the Thai Hoa Palace area was broken by tourists, Thanh Nien reported). Limiting the visiting areas is to ensure the sacredness of some monuments and prevent and limit these risks.
