Quang Ninh celebrates 80th anniversary of cultural sector tradition day

Art program to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Cultural Industry's Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025).

Through 80 years of construction and development with many proud marks, bearing in mind the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh : "Culture lights the way for the nation to go", during the arduous years of resistance, Quang Ninh culture has strongly promoted the tradition of "Discipline and unity", becoming a sharp weapon of struggle, encouraging patriotism, nurturing revolutionary ideals, arousing aspirations and lighting up the belief in victory.

Entering a period of peace and innovation, when the country is growing strongly, culture continues its noble mission, rebuilding the spirit, preserving the roots, searching for and affirming identity among multidimensional modern cultural flows.

In the era of deep integration, culture has become a solid spiritual foundation, a lasting internal resource, a creative connection and gradually affirmed its position as an important pillar in the comprehensive development process of the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh emphasized that in the coming time, facing the new requirements of innovation and integration, the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Culture needs to continue to closely follow, be proactive and responsive in implementing the policies and orientations of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the province; promote the tradition of solidarity, democracy, discipline, promote innovation and digital transformation. At the same time, focus on promoting the cultural values, human strength of Quang Ninh; promote rapid and sustainable tourism growth on the basis of developing world-class products and services, creating a solid foundation for the whole country to enter a new era of development - the era of national development.

In the general flow of culture, sports and tourism in the whole country, Quang Ninh - the cradle of the tradition of "discipline and unity", a land rich in identity with two heritages of Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) listed as a world heritage, has been gradually affirming its position on the map of Vietnamese culture, tourism and sports.

Along with that, the system of cultural institutions in the province has been invested in and modernized, increasingly meeting the cultural enjoyment needs of the people. Many symbolic works have become attractive destinations, contributing significantly to traditional education and raising public awareness of historical and cultural values. The movement to build a grassroots cultural life has been implemented synchronously and effectively, bringing culture to the people, building a healthy cultural environment, contributing to preserving identity and improving the quality of local human resources.

Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Cultural Sector's Traditional Day.

In particular, the cultural industry with creative products associated with heritage, large-scale art events and festivals of regional, national and international scale are increasingly receiving adequate investment attention. Cultural tourism is increasingly developing, contributing to affirming the brand of Quang Ninh as a "heritage, civilized and friendly destination"; in the period of 2020-2025, Quang Ninh province welcomed about 80 million visitors, including 10 million international visitors, total revenue from tourism activities reached more than 160,000 billion VND, the contribution of tourism GRDP to Quang Ninh's GRDP annually from 5.6% to 9.64%. Quang Ninh is one of the leading provinces in the country in terms of national tourism.

Quang Ninh is aiming to become an international tourism center, tourism is a key economic sector in the direction of green growth. Every year, it strives to welcome at least 20 million visitors/year, including 4.5 million international visitors, contributing to the economic growth of the province; by 2030, it strives to welcome more than 28 million tourists, including 9 million international visitors, the number of guests staying is about 13 million), the direct contribution of tourism to the province's GRDP is about 12%.
