Mr. Zhao Leji - member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China - paid an official visit to Vietnam from August 31 to September 2.

The visit took place at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

During his stay in Hanoi, Mr. Trieu will attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day on September 2, and co-chair the first meeting of the Cooperation Committee between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Chinese National People's Congress.

Welcoming the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport at noon on August 31 were Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong, Deputy Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Dang Khanh Toan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan, and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Don Tuan Phong.

Accompanying Mr. Trieu Lac Te on his official visit to Vietnam were Secretary General of the National People's Congress of China Liu Qi, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress of China Lou Can Kiem, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Ha Vi, and Deputy Head of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Ma Huy.

Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Financial and Economic Committee Mr. Jie Ming, Deputy Secretary-General of the National People's Congress Hu Xiaoli, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee Li Jinghai, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Legislative Affairs Committee Sun Zhenping.

On the eve of Mr. Trieu Lac Te's visit, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh said that the official visit of the highest leader of the National People's Congress of China to Vietnam, and especially the first time, together with the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam to co-chair the meeting of the Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China, not only contributes to promoting cooperation in the legislative field, but also highlights the rich achievements in the foreign affairs and diplomacy channels of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, and people.

Thereby consolidating a solid political foundation for cooperation in all fields, developing bilateral relations in an increasingly solid, stable, substantive and effective direction.

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Ha Vi emphasized that the visit of Chairman Zhao Leji is an opportunity for the Chinese Party and Government to send warm congratulations to the Vietnamese Party and Government on the occasion of the 80th National Day, demonstrating China's importance to the relationship between the two Parties and two countries and promoting the building of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future which is of strategic significance.

The visit also demonstrates China's strong support and close affection for Vietnam; affirms a clear message of mutual support, together persevering on the socialist path, implementing the common perception of the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two countries, and building a China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future of strategic significance at a new height.
