The closer to National Day September 2, the more people flock to the National Achievements Exhibition at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi City), leading to overload and congestion on most of the roads leading to the Exhibition.

Based on the actual situation, to reduce the load and help people have a suitable travel route, the Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police recommends that people should proactively change their routes early to avoid being stuck in congested areas. Recommended alternative routes include:

Direction to Thang Long Bridge: vehicles from Cau Giay, Tay Ho, Tu Liem areas should travel along elevated Ring Road 2 and Ring Road 3 to cross Thang Long Bridge to Dong Anh.

Directions to Chuong Duong Bridge or Vinh Tuy Bridge, vehicles from the central area (Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung) and the South of the city should choose to go through Chuong Duong Bridge or Vinh Tuy Bridge, then move along Nguyen Van Cu, Ngo Gia Tu streets to Dong Anh.

The police agency recommends that people limit traffic in the direction of Nhat Tan bridge.

At 5:00 p.m. on August 31, Truong Sa Street, the main road leading to the National Exhibition Center, was congested for several kilometers in both directions, especially from Long Bien and the section in front of the entrance to the Center. Roads such as Ly Son, Hoang Sa, etc. were also in a similar situation.

Although Traffic Police Team No. 15 (Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police) organized traffic flow and regulation, there was still a prolonged traffic jam on most of the roads around the Exhibition.

The traffic jam lasted for about 5 km, motorbikes overflowed onto the sidewalks, even going in the opposite direction. Many people had to park their vehicles several kilometers away to walk to the Exhibition. Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy (born in 1986, residing in Trieu Khuc, Thanh Xuan Ward, Hanoi) shared that when he left, it took him about 2 hours to travel about 3 km from the Exhibition to the main road.

Previously, Hanoi City Police had planned traffic diversion for the Exhibition.

Accordingly, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. every day (from August 28 to September 5, 2025): The City Police temporarily ban cargo vehicles with a cargo weight of 3.5 tons or more, passenger vehicles with 29 seats or more (except buses, garbage collection vehicles, incident response vehicles, vehicles with security badges, vehicles of the Police force, the Army and other priority vehicles according to the provisions of law) and restrict trucks with a cargo weight of less than 3.5 tons, passenger vehicles with less than 29 seats and private cars and motorbikes from operating on some routes such as: Ly Son, Truong Sa, Hoang Sa.
