Viettel Group receives the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal for the second time

(Chinhphu.vn) - On August 30, at the Business Meeting with the theme "80 years of enterprises accompanying the country", Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group was honored to receive the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal, presented by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on behalf of the Party and State leaders, for its outstanding achievements in labor, production combined with national defense and security, contributing to the cause of building the army, strengthening national defense and protecting the Fatherland. This is the second time Viettel has received this title, after the first time in May 2024.

15 years ago, Viettel Group began participating in the field of research and production, promoting the process of enhancing national defense potential, becoming the core of a high-tech defense industrial complex, actively contributing to the cause of military modernization to maintain national sovereignty , on land, in the sky, on islands and in cyberspace.

Up to now, Viettel has mastered many strategic weapons, completed research and manufactured more than 50 types of high-tech weapons and equipment, which have been put into service, serving well the training and readiness tasks of many units under the Ministry of National Defense .

Through introducing the achievements after many years of persistent research and development, Viettel wishes to affirm that Vietnamese people have the full capacity and intelligence to master strategic weapons and firmly protect the Fatherland from early on and from afar.

Honored to represent Viettel Group to receive this noble award, Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of the Group emphasized: "On the journey to rise with the country, Viettel Group pledges to perform better the functions of a fighting army, working and producing labor, being a pioneering and key enterprise of Vietnam, worthy of the trust and expectations of the Party, State, Government and army for Viettel.

This is the promise and also the command from the hearts of more than 50,000 Viettel officers and employees worldwide, contributing to making Vietnam a powerful, prosperous and everlasting nation. Viettel hopes to continue receiving the support of the Party, State, Government, Prime Minister and central and local ministries and branches so that the Group can develop even more strongly in the future."

Within the framework of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, Viettel's equipment made an impressive appearance at the parade rehearsal on the morning of August 30 with 2 missile complexes, new generation UAVs, radar complexes and electronic warfare vehicles.

At the National Achievement Exhibition "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness Journey" (taking place from August 28 to September 5, 2025 at the National Exhibition Center, Dong Anh, Hanoi), Viettel brought more than 50 civil and military technology products, including long-range UAVs, self-propelled artillery, new missile and radar complexes, attracting a large number of visitors.

Previously, Viettel was honored to receive the Ho Chi Minh Prize for two military scientific works in 2022, the First Class Independence Medal in 2019, the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces in 2014, the title of Hero of Labor in 2007 and many other noble State-level medals.
