Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai: More than 1,125 billion VND in government gifts paid through banks

To contribute to bringing gifts to people early on the occasion of National Day September 2, credit institutions have maintained payment and treasury activities throughout the holiday, actively implementing payments and giving the Government's Independence Day gifts to people.

On September 1, Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam Region 2, said that as of the end of the afternoon of September 1, 2025, the Southeast region alone (including Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai ) had paid VND 1,125 billion to give to households and individuals. Of which, Ho Chi Minh City had spent about VND 780 billion.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, this activity has many meanings, in addition to the responsibility of performing well the work of giving gifts to the Government , some credit institutions combine to implement solutions to expand non-cash payments, with creative, suitable and humane products: such as giving smartphones to the poor; giving gifts and rewards when opening accounts and using services combined with the VneID application for social security payments...

“From the perspective of operations and service development, it will create conditions for people to use account services. From a management perspective, this activity has great significance in contributing to popularizing and popularizing the use of public services through the application of the National Electronic Identification (VneID) of the people, thereby contributing significantly to the effective implementation of management activities according to the 2-level local government model,” said Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh.
