Determined to complete maintenance of Dung Quat Biofuel Plant, ready to start in November 2025

According to information from the working session and on-site inspection by Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang - General Director of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) at Dung Quat Biofuel Plant, the plant restart is expected to be completed in November 2025. This is an important preparation step for BSR to implement the national roadmap on green fuel conversion according to the direction of Petrovietnam and the Government.

On the morning of August 31, General Director Nguyen Viet Thang directly inspected maintenance items at the workshops of Dung Quat Biofuel Plant. This work is determined to be a prerequisite to ensure technical safety and readiness for stable operation when the plant resumes operation.

Reporting to the General Director of BSR, Mr. Pham Van Vuong - Director of the Central Petroleum Biofuel Joint Stock Company (BSR-BF), the unit managing and operating the plant, said: the maintenance work will be completed before October 31, 2025. Currently, the units are focusing all their efforts on the electricity - steam workshop area, after completing the start-up of the main power station to supply electricity to the entire plant. The progress is strictly controlled every day, human resources are mobilized at the highest level to ensure urgent requirements. It is expected that from November 2025, the plant will officially restart, producing ethanol for blending E10 biofuel, earlier than the Government 's schedule.

Dung Quat Refinery plays an important role in BSR's green transformation in the coming time.

Speaking at the inspection, BSR General Director Nguyen Viet Thang acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and efforts of the BSR-BF team and contractors. He emphasized: “The fact that BSR-BF officers, engineers, workers and related units work day and night, regardless of holidays, to speed up maintenance progress, practically celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2 and the 50th anniversary of Petrovietnam , demonstrates a high determination in contributing to the implementation of the green fuel conversion roadmap of Petrovietnam and the Government. In addition to progress, units must pay special attention to labor safety, especially during the rainy and stormy season”.

With a capacity of 100 million liters of ethanol per year, the main raw material is dried cassava chips, Dung Quat Biofuel Plant will play a key role together with Dung Quat Refinery in supplying biofuel to the Central market, contributing to ensuring energy security, reducing emissions and developing clean, environmentally friendly fuels.
