Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh suddenly passed away!

On the evening of September 1, director Hong Ngoc, a close friend of Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh, on behalf of the family, officially announced the passing of the female artist and director Ngoc Trinh.

10 days earlier, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh felt short of breath and was taken to the hospital. Her health condition then worsened. Despite the dedicated treatment of doctors and nurses, the artist did not survive and passed away at 11:30 a.m. on September 1, 2025, at the age of 52.

Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh was born in 1974 in Ho Chi Minh City. Since childhood, she has loved reformed opera. When she was in high school, when she heard that the School of Stage Arts II (now the University of Stage and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City) was recruiting students, Ngoc Trinh chose to take the entrance exam to fulfill her dream of shining on stage.

In 1994, Ngoc Trinh was admitted to the 15th class of Drama Actors. In her second year, she was invited by Meritorious Artist Bach Lan, who was then the Director of the City Youth Drama Troupe, to play several main roles in the plays Hoai Thu cua toi , Nu sinh , Hoa Thien Ly tren cao...

In 1997, after graduating from school, she joined the 135 Hai Ba Trung Theater and began her career as an extra. When the 5B Theater staged the play Our House , director Hong Van chose Ngoc Trinh to play the role of Bich Hong instead of actress Hong Dao, who had just immigrated to the US. During this time, Ngoc Trinh performed both drama at the 5B Theater and comedy at the 135 Hai Ba Trung Theater.

From 2000 to 2004, Ngoc Trinh was an actress at Idecaf Drama Theater. In 2004, she moved to Tran Cao Van Theater founded by artists Minh Nhi and Quoc Thao. Also in this year, Ngoc Trinh participated in the TV series Love Flower Basket and began to fall in love with producer Kim Se Hyuk, who later became the artist's husband.

In 2005, the female artist and co-stars Le Giang, Huy Cuong, Thai Minh Nhien founded the Le Giang - Ngoc Trinh Comedy Group. During this time, in addition to performing on stage, Ngoc Trinh also participated in plays on television, acted in long-running films, and was a program host for Ho Chi Minh City Television.

In 2006, the female artist took on the lead role in the TV series Mui Ngo Gai . The film was a successful turning point in the career of artist Ngoc Trinh, but due to health problems, Ngoc Trinh could only participate in the first two parts of the film. When her health recovered, the female artist accepted to participate in the long-running film Hoa Co Dau by Minh Phuong Film Studio.

In 2007, Ngoc Trinh won the Mai Vang Award in the Comedian category for her role as Xang in the play Dancing Heart.

Since 2009, Ngoc Trinh has been working as an actress at the Young World Stage and has played more roles, including the outstanding role of Be Ba in the play Doi Nhu Y by director Bui Quoc Bao. This is also the role that helped the female artist receive the Gold Medal at the National Professional Theater Festival in 2012. To promote her artistic development, the female artist has become a "producer", responsible for translating and staging the play Ke lie da tinh. In 2011, the female artist decided to study Directing at the University of Theater and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2014, Ngoc Trinh realized that the Ho Chi Minh City Drama Theater had few performances while she needed venues, so the female artist connected and cooperated with the theater to light a series of scripts such as Only Love, The Amorous Liar, 49 Days of Love, Rain and Clouds...

In 2019, Ngoc Trinh was honored to receive the title of Meritorious Artist. In her artistic journey, the female artist has received many medals and awards at national professional theater competitions.

Meritorious Artist Ngoc Trinh's funeral was held at her home in Vuon Lai Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The burial ceremony took place at 7:00 p.m. on September 1, 2025. The funeral took place at 2:00 p.m. on September 4, 2025. The coffin was then cremated at Binh Hung Hoa Cremation Center.
