Artists from Ho Chi Minh City who received Gold and Silver medals at the 5th National Professional Arts Festival on "The Image of the People's Public Security Soldier" - 2025 gave emotional speeches. They have been constantly creative, "living on friends' boats" and overcoming many difficulties due to being too far from the capital to bring to the festival roles with many creative marks.

The closing night of the 5th National Professional Art Theater Festival on "The Image of the People's Public Security Soldier" in 2025 is not only a moment to honor artistic contributions, but also a place to leave deep emotions from the hearts of artists - those who have lived fully with each role throughout their creative journey.

Artist Quoc Thao (Golden Medal for the role of Thai - play "Deep Night" - Quoc Thao Stage):

Artist Quoc Thao as Lieutenant Colonel Thai (play "Deep Night")

"I have never cried on stage… until the play ended. For me, the role of Thai is a role that brings back many painful memories, but also gives me more faith in what is right.

A police colonel is determined to pull his son out of the darkness when the "Deep Night" case is going to the end of the darkness to find the light. When I stand on stage, I am no longer Quoc Thao.

I am Lieutenant Colonel Thai. I am a police officer who sacrificed himself for the people. Today's gold medal is a reminder that artists can also be soldiers, with their hearts and the light of art."

Artist Truong Phuc and Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu in the play "Deep Night"

Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu (Gold Medal for the role of Binh - play "Deep Night" - Quoc Thao Stage):

"We don't just act - we go through a lifetime. The role of Binh - a woman who is a wife, a mother in the family, she is the embodiment of a woman who silently endures, not wanting her child to fall into the trap of breaking the law, she was wrong to find every way to release her child, and then she accepted that responsibility. I was moved when the audience cried with Binh, silently with Binh. That was the greatest reward. The gold medal is an honor, but greater, it is sympathy. Thank you Quoc Thao stage for letting me transform and live with the character Binh".

Artist Lam Vy Da (Gold Medal for the role of Doctor Hoa - play "Another War" - Hong Van Stage):

"I never thought a positive role would be so difficult! Doctor Hoa is a strong, intelligent woman but is deeply troubled by loss. She is not a police officer, but she fights just as fiercely in the operating room and in her heart. I was afraid that I could not show the depth of the character. Today, the Gold Medal gives me confirmation: the audience understands and sympathizes. And I am extremely grateful for that."

Artist Bui Cong Danh and Lac Hoang Long in the play "Another War"

Artist Lac Hoang Long (Silver Medal as Doctor Manh) and Bui Cong Danh (Silver Medal as Tuan - "Another War" - Hong Van Stage):

Artist Lac Hoang Long shared: "Doctor Manh is a haunting character. A person who once saved people but fell into exploitation and betrayal. When I transformed into this villain, I did not defend him, but I wanted the audience to understand: evil also has its reasons. And warn us not to repeat it. Thank you Hong Van Drama Theater, thank you People's Artist Hong Van for giving me this opportunity to transform."

Artist Bui Cong Danh: "Tuan is a pawn, but a dangerous pawn. I used to worry that the audience would hate the villain, but when the capital audience cheered us on and gave our roles a lot of affection, I understood that they saw our efforts when we first came to the festival. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity for the young actors trained at Hong Van Stage."

Artist Minh Le and Hien Nhi in the play "Sugar-Coated Bullet"

Artist Mi Le (Silver Medal for the role of Lieutenant Colonel Ha Vi - play "Sugar-Coated Bullet" - Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema Association):

"This is the role I brought home, even into my sleep. Lieutenant Colonel Ha Vi is a woman of steel. But behind that armor is a troubled soul, full of worries. I did not play Ha Vi with my heart and responsibility. When the stage lights went out, I still heard the applause and clearly felt the happiness of the artist. And today, the award is a gift I would like to offer to all the female soldiers who are silently sacrificing for the noble mission, of which Ha Vi is a character representing sacrifice and courage."

Artist Huy Khanh plays Minh Tri in the play "Sugar-Coated Bullet"

Artist Huy Khanh (Gold Medal for the role of Minh Tri - play "Sugar-coated bullet" - Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema Association):

"I am the villain – but also the one who leaves a warning. Minh Tri is not a cute character. He is smart, corrupt, and full of schemes. But I want to play Tri as a reminder of the price of power and corruption. If the audience shudders when the villains appear, we have succeeded. And the Gold Medal is a recognition that I cherish. Thank you for the opportunity, thank you to the crew who have worked so hard to achieve this achievement."

People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui - President of Vietnam Stage Artists Association congratulates Meritorious Artist Minh Nhi on winning the Gold Medal

Meritorious Artist Minh Nhi (Gold Medal for the roles of Trung and Hieu - "Emotional Reunion" - Truong Hung Minh Stage):

"Being able to play two opposing characters is a blessing of the profession. Trung and Hieu - two twin brothers, one is a good engineer, the other falls into darkness. It's like I split my soul in two to live both lives fully. Every time I change roles, it's a challenge. But then the audience's tears say it all.

I would like to present this Gold Medal to the young artists of Truong Hung Minh Art Stage as a message to love the profession and live and die for the role like we did. Thank you People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau, the teacher who has suffered a lot with us, thank you to author Hoai Huong, artist Le Van Dinh and all the actors who contributed to the work."

Artist Binh Tinh with Gold Medal in the role of Thuy Duong (play "Emotional Reunion" - Truong Hung Minh Stage)

Artist Binh Tinh (Gold medal for the role of team leader Thuy Duong - "Emotional reunion" - Truong Hung Minh Stage):

"I cried when I received this honor. Thuy Duong is a strong captain, but also a girl with many worries. I acted with all my love for the character.

Today's Gold Medal is not just the result of a role, but also a journey of many years pursuing the stage, overcoming difficulties to rise from reformed opera to drama. I believe that the stage still has a place for all artists who love and live for it. I am grateful for the opportunity to perform political drama, there are many valuable lessons for us after this festival."

A night of tears and glory, of art and humanity.
The gold and silver medals not only honor the acting, but also honor the tireless dedication of the artists - soldiers with emotional hearts, always fighting with creative labor for each role on stage.
