Meritorious Artist Le Mai was born in 1938 in the port city of Hai Phong . She is the daughter of poet and playwright Le Dai Thanh, who worked in the Central Drama Troupe - the predecessor of the Vietnam Drama Theater at the same time as great names like The Lu and Song Kim. In addition to his writing work, he was also a teacher, having taught many famous students such as writer Nguyen Hong, writer Nam Cao and Lieutenant General Bang Giang.
