Polish opponent makes interesting comments about Vietnam women's volleyball team
Unable to defeat the world's third-ranked team Poland in the opening match of Group G of the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship in Phuket (Thailand), coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's students received many compliments.

Immediately after the match, the Volleyball world page of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) quoted Stysiak, the number 1 scorer of the Polish team, as saying: "We have great respect for the Vietnamese team. In the first set, they played very well and we played very badly. The Polish team came back to win, but we will learn from our experience for the next matches."
FIVB said the amazing performance of the Vietnamese team was thanks to the effectiveness of the striker Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, who contributed 20 points. Captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy shared: "We are very happy to have played well against one of the strongest volleyball teams in the world. The whole team had a good connection with each other, creating a good match. The Vietnamese team came to the tournament with the goal of learning and accumulating experience."

According to professional statistics in the 1-3 loss to Poland, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh was the number 1 scorer of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team with 20 points, including 18 attacking points, 1 blocking point and 1 direct serving point. Middle blocker Tran Thi Bich Thuy also played impressively, contributing 9 points from effective fast hits. Opposite setter Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, who replaced Bich Tuyen, also contributed 8 points and captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy scored 6 points.
With an impressive debut, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is expected to continue playing well in the next match, facing the German team (ranked 11th in the world) on August 25 and then the Kenyan team (August 27) to compete for a ticket to the knockout round.
Special: By winning 1 game against the world's 3rd ranked team, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was only deducted 0.01 points in the world rankings and maintained its 22nd place in the world after finishing the first round of matches at the 2025 World Championship.
