65 years ago, the tourism industry was officially born with the presence of Vietnam Tourism Company - the predecessor of today's Vietnam National Tourism Administration. Through many stages, through many difficulties and challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, but with the spirit of overcoming difficulties, creativity and flexible adaptation, the tourism industry has recovered and made great strides in development.

From a few hundred thousand international visitors in the 90s, by 2024, Vietnam welcomed nearly 18 million international visitors and more than 110 million domestic visitors. And in the first 6 months of 2025, the tourism industry continued to be a bright spot when welcoming nearly 10.7 million international visitors and serving 77.5 million domestic visitors. Tourism contributes about 9.2% of GDP, creating millions of jobs, becoming one of the key economic sectors, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.

From a domestic service industry, Vietnam tourism today has become an important bridge between Vietnam and the world, closely associated with the national image, national identity and position of Vietnam in the international arena.

According to the Deputy Minister, when talking about the development of tourism, it is impossible not to mention the role of the Vietnamese aviation industry. In particular, Vietnam Airlines Corporation. Tourism and aviation have a close relationship, supporting each other to develop together. Aviation not only brings visitors, but also "tells the story of Vietnam" - the story of a peaceful, friendly, hospitable Vietnam, rich in cultural identity, a safe and unique destination in the region and the world.

The Deputy Minister hopes that in the future, Tourism will not only be an economic sector, but also a connecting bridge. Aviation is not simply a transportation, but a "promotional ambassador". Each trip is a cultural spread, each destination is a touch point of the image of Vietnam - friendly, safe, rich in identity and innovative, creative.

According to a representative of Vietnam Airlines, reaching the milestone of 350 million passengers is a testament to Vietnam Airlines' strong development journey after 30 years of operation. From an airline that mainly operated domestically, Vietnam Airlines has grown to own a modern fleet with a scale that has increased four times and a flight network covering more than 1,000 destinations in the SkyTeam airline alliance, connecting to Asia, Europe, Australia and North America.

Looking to the future, Vietnam Airlines continues to expand its flight network, upgrade services and promote sustainable development initiatives, including digital transformation and green transformation, gradually affirming its position as an international airline with a strong Vietnamese identity on the world map.

Vietnam Airlines not only transports passengers, we also bring the cultural values imbued with identity, unforgettable experiences and aspirations of Vietnam to friends around the world, and at the same time bring the world closer to the beautiful S-shaped strip of land," said Mr. Le Hong Ha, General Director of Vietnam Airlines.

On this occasion, Vietnam Airlines, in collaboration with the Hue City People's Committee, the National Tourism Administration and the Hue City Department of Tourism, officially launched the program "Magical Hue Night - Discover to Love". Accordingly, domestic and international tourists arriving in Hue on Vietnam Airlines' night flights will have the opportunity to receive special incentives such as up to 80% discount on accommodation costs or free first night at some affiliated hotels in the program. This is a joint effort between Vietnam Airlines and Hue City to stimulate tourism while continuously improving the quality of experience for tourists.
