Opening of the Press Center for the 80th Anniversary of National Day

On the afternoon of August 26, the Central Steering Committee to celebrate major holidays and important historical events of the country in 3 years (2023-2025) organized the opening of the Press Center to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Attending the program were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia - Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important events of the country in the 3 years 2023-2025; Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh; Party Central Committee member, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung; Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh - Director of the Press Center for the 80th National Day Celebration as well as leaders of Central Committees, Ministries and Branches.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh - Director of the Press Center for the 80th National Day Celebration, said that 80 years ago, on September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This was a momentous event, opening a new era for the Vietnamese people - the Era of Independence - Freedom and Happiness.

Over the past 80 years, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam , we have gone through struggles for independence and unification, moving from a subsidized mechanism to economic reform and international integration.

Currently, Vietnam has achieved many outstanding achievements, with stable and high average economic growth, attracting strong foreign direct investment and developing strong production for export. The poverty rate has decreased sharply, the quality of life and the cultural and spiritual life of the people have been improved. The infrastructure system has been expanded, including transportation, seaports, airports and energy, supporting domestic and international connections. Rapid development of industry, information technology, startups and innovation has created momentum for economic growth.

Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh - Director of the Press Center for the 80th National Day Celebration spoke at the ceremony.

According to Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh, the 80th anniversary of National Day - September 2 is a special and important event of the country, an opportunity for us to review the heroic history, educate the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of great solidarity, the desire for peace, the will of self-reliance, self-reliance, self-respect, and national pride; express deep gratitude to the generations who sacrificed their blood for national independence and unification; affirm the determination of the entire Party, people and army in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

In addition, information and press work will also contribute to arousing and fostering people's trust and pride in the Party, the State and the cause of national renewal, creating unity within the Party, social consensus to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; encouraging and motivating cadres, party members and people to overcome all difficulties and challenges, seize opportunities, and be determined to complete the goals and tasks of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, the 13th National Party Congress and the Central Committee's Resolutions, bringing the country into a new era - an era of strong and prosperous development of the Vietnamese nation.

"In the jubilant atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam - September 2, today, the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important historical events of the country in 3 years (2023-2025) will organize the opening of the Press Center for the 80th Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam", said Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh.

The Press Center is the place to organize, direct and guide press activities related to the Anniversary for nearly 1,500 domestic and foreign reporters, editors and reporters; this is also the place to provide information about the Anniversary activities; serve the reporters' work; handle the reporters' requests for press activities. In addition, press information work will contribute significantly to the overall success of the National Day Anniversary - September 2.

"With that purpose, we will create all favorable conditions for domestic and international reporters to report on the Anniversary and proactively and actively provide information from the Organizing Committee about the Anniversary, contributing to the successful organization of the Anniversary according to the goals we have set, while ensuring the safety and security of the Anniversary.

I also request that my colleagues and all domestic and foreign reporters and editors report quickly and accurately and comply with regulations on security, location, working diagrams, and routes for reporters. The Organizing Committee will send these to all press agencies to ensure absolute safety for the activities of the Celebration," said Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh.

About the parade in the Anniversary

The Central Government assigned the Ministry of National Defense to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoi City and relevant departments, ministries, branches, agencies and units to organize the implementation.

As of (August 26), regarding force organization, there are 06 forces participating in the parade, specifically including:

Traditional Torch Relay and Fire Guard.

Artillery Force.

Air Force flyover.

Parade and marching forces: 04 Honor Guards; 43 groups representing the people's armed forces (26 Army groups, 17 Police groups); foreign military groups (expected 04 groups), including: China, Russia, Laos, Cambodia (arrived in Vietnam: Cambodia August 15, Laos August 16, Russia August 20, China is expected to arrive in Vietnam August 27); Military vehicles, artillery, special Police vehicles; Parade forces at sea; 12 mass parade groups; 01 Culture and Sports group.
