VN-Index jumps more than 50 points after two sessions of decline

In the afternoon session, the increase was unexpectedly extended. At 2:17 p.m., VN-Index increased sharply by 38.94 points (equivalent to 2.41%) to 1,653.40 points. The entire HoSE recorded 268 stocks increasing, overwhelming 56 stocks decreasing and 40 stocks remaining unchanged. In the VN30 group, 29 stocks increased and 1 stock decreased. VN30-Index increased by 51.25 points (2.9%) to 1,836.13 points. Stocks that increased sharply, with no sellers, were SHB, SSI, and VHM.

Less than 10 minutes later (at 2:26 p.m.), VN-Index increased by 48.31 points to 1,662.43 points. All 30 codes in the VN basket increased.

At the end of the session on August 26, VN-Index increased by 53.60 points (equivalent to 3.32%) to 1,667.63 points. The entire HoSE recorded 299 stocks increasing (21 stocks hitting the ceiling), 45 stocks decreasing and 27 stocks remaining unchanged. 30 stocks in the VN30 group all increased. The VN30-Index increased by 65.93 points (3.7%) to 1,849.05 points.

The index's increase came from impressive recoveries of banking stocks such as TCB up 4.79% compared to the reference, CTG up 4.38%, VCB exceeding the reference by 1.57%, SHB hitting the ceiling. In addition, VIC and VHM also played an important role in the index.

The HNX-Index increased by 9.21 points (3.45%) to 275.79 points. The UpCom-Index increased by 0.26 points, stopping at 108.84 points. Foreign investors did not participate much in the price chasing wave this afternoon, although they still net bought nearly 400 billion VND more on the HoSE. Afternoon liquidity increased by 77% compared to the morning. The total transaction value on all 3 floors reached more than 42,000 billion VND.
