Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha shares and encourages Ha Tinh people affected by storm No. 5

On the morning of August 26, a working delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha directly inspected the recovery work after storm No. 5 in Ha Tinh province and presented gifts and encouragement to Ha Tinh people affected by the storm.

Also joining the delegation were Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh - Commander of Military Region 4; Major General Doan Xuan Buong - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Military Region 4.

In Loc Ha commune, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha visited and encouraged the family of Nguyen Quang Tu - a poor household in Hoa Binh village and the family of Tran Thi Sach - a policy beneficiary in Yen Dinh village. These are two of hundreds of households in Loc Ha commune that were severely affected by storm No. 5. All families had their roofs blown off and were severely damaged.

In Truong Luu commune, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha visited and encouraged the family of Nguyen Quang Trung in Dat Do village and teachers and students of Nga Loc Kindergarten. Trung's family is a poor household and has just received support from the Ministry of Public Security to build a house, however, storm No. 5 has caused severe damage to the house.

At the destinations, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha sympathized with the people's losses caused by storm No. 5; at the same time, encouraged the people to make efforts to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested local authorities to focus maximum human and material resources to support families, especially those in difficult circumstances and policy beneficiaries, to repair their houses as soon as possible. At the same time, priority should be given to repairing damage at educational and medical facilities, so that teaching and learning activities can be reorganized soon, people's health care can be taken care of, and their lives can be stabilized.

Preliminary statistics of the damage caused by storm No. 5 show that in Ha Tinh, there was 1 dead person, 9 injured people; 7 houses collapsed, 1,200 houses were deeply flooded, 6,300 houses had their roofs blown off; 47 schools, 5 medical facilities, 7 cultural works were damaged; about 21,000 hectares of summer-autumn rice, 1,600 hectares of crops were flooded and fell, 4,000 tons of aquatic products were damaged; tens of thousands of trees were broken; many traffic routes, irrigation works, power grids, and communications were damaged...
