Launching the book "25 years of Vietnamese Professional Football Journey"

On the afternoon of August 26, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation, the book launch ceremony "25 years of the Journey of Vietnamese Professional Football" took place.

Starting from the 2000-2001 season, Vietnamese football has changed towards professionalization. This was a bold move, because at that time, even professionals admitted that it was a difficult and challenging period, not only because of changes in the way of working but more importantly, changes in the thinking of managing and operating the entire national football system.

Starting with the name V-League, then the appearance of foreign players on domestic football fields, to the first time the National Championship had a sponsorship contract associated with the tournament name, on the team's playing uniform, advertising billboards on the field... and especially the appearance of the corporate football model when the bosses directly invested and participated in the management and operation of football clubs... made a strong change for the entire football industry, which used to operate under a subsidized model, to gradually become semi-professional, then professional.

On December 5, 2011, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) was established with the largest shareholder being the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the shareholders being professional football clubs. The professional journey of the country's football recorded a new milestone when it was in line with the general development trend of professional football in the world .

The achievements of national teams and clubs in international competitions have been improved. All activities of the Vietnam Football Federation and related organizations are governed by the Professional Football Regulations. The socialization of football with the participation of enterprises has helped mobilize more social resources and the professional tournament system has been adjusted to suit the international competition system.

Although the professional process is still long and full of difficulties, the success over 25 years has proven that it is an inevitable step for the country's football.

The book "25 years of the Journey of Vietnamese Professional Football" is a valuable historical document, recording important milestones and positive changes in the innovation of the management mechanism of Vietnamese Football to suit international trends on the path of integration.

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, Chairman of VFF, Head of the Steering Committee for the book implementation, said that the book "25 years of the Journey of Vietnamese Professional Football" is a deep gratitude, honoring the persistent efforts and determination to innovate of many generations of football, from managers to coaches, players, referees and a large number of fans and all members of the common house of Vietnamese Football, who have been and are striving to dedicate themselves to the development of Vietnamese Professional Football.

"From the professional foundation built over the past 25 years, the Vietnam National Teams have achieved many outstanding achievements. These results are a testament to the value and effectiveness of the professionalization process, a journey full of hardships but full of pride. It is the result of persistent innovation, the close connection between the management system and operational practices and the spirit of dedication from all those involved in football. VFF believes that, based on the results achieved after 25 years of developing professional football, Vietnamese football will continue to write new pages in the future - for the common development of the country's sports and the pride and aspiration to reach far in the "Era of national growth" - Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized.
