Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung chaired the online conference to deploy key tasks of the tourism industry in the last 6 months of 2025.
After listening to the report of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism on the results of tourism activities in the first 6 months of the year and the implementation of key tasks for the last 6 months of 2025 and the opinions of local representatives, concluding the Conference, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said that the Conference took place on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Tourism Industry and was conducted at the time when the 2-level local government was put into operation.
In the context that the tourism industry is striving to achieve the goal of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors, serving 120-130 million domestic visitors and contributing to the GDP growth target of over 8% in 2025, it can be said that the Conference has implemented "2 contents in 1".
The conference was connected online to 34 locations in 34 localities across the country.
First content: The conference is for us to pay tribute to previous generations of tourism workers, those who laid the first bricks for the Vietnamese tourism industry, so that today tourism has developed and is rising to become a key economic sector.
"We sincerely thank the generations of tourism workers in the past and present and hope that the human resources in tourism in the future will have a warm heart, a pair of strong legs, hands that are not afraid of difficulties and a mind that is always innovative and creative as provisions to continue on the upcoming journey.
We sincerely thank the leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly , Government, and local Party committees for their constant attention, leadership, and direction with many important policies for the development of the tourism industry," the Minister shared.
Minister Nguyen Van Hung delivered concluding remarks at the Conference.
Second, the Conference discussed and evaluated tourism activities in the first 6 months of the year and deployed key tasks for the last 6 months of 2025 as well as in the next period.
According to the Minister, from the report of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and through the discussion of delegates in localities, it is possible to summarize the general spirit of the Conference that conveyed a message to the entire industry, considering it as a handbook for activities in the remaining 6 months of 2025 as well as in the next phase: " Join forces, choose locations, accelerate to make Vietnamese tourism become the leading destination in Asia".
The Minister emphasized that to implement this message, there is a lot of work to do, including ensuring the following major tasks and orientations:
Firstly, after implementing the two-level local government, it is necessary to reposition the tourism resources of each locality and the country. This is a mandatory requirement. The Minister suggested that after today's conference, all units must implement it together and do it as soon as possible. By the end of the third quarter of 2025 at the latest, tourism resources must be positioned to "redraw the tourism map of Vietnam" as directed by the Prime Minister.
Second , regarding institutional improvement, it is necessary to review the policy mechanisms, strategies, and tourism projects issued at the central and local levels to supplement and improve them. Only then can we remove bottlenecks, unblock resources, and create new motivation for the state, businesses, and people.
Third , we must redefine key tourism markets from national to local. We have now identified 10 key international markets including: Korea, China, Japan, the United States, Australia, the EU, ASEAN, India, the Middle East and Russia. These key, strategic markets must be taken into account in promotion and advertising.
The Minister emphasized that those working in tourism must thoroughly understand the viewpoint: "Market is the center, brand is the foundation".

Fourth, continue to focus on building unique Vietnamese tourism products according to the Prime Minister's Directive and the Government's Resolution.
According to the Minister, after the localities merge, there is a new space that needs to re-establish tourism products, the products must be large, deep and unique, suitable for each locality. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is ready to coordinate with a number of localities to research and create new products.
Fifth , promote the promotion program, especially pay attention to the established theme "Vietnam, go to love" and focus on the locality. Promotion and promotion must be based on two factors: international visitors and domestic visitors. In which, domestic visitors are the foundation of the tourism industry, we have succeeded in the Covid-19 pandemic, so we need to continue to promote it in the current context.
Sixth, we must focus on developing a smart tourism ecosystem, associated with comprehensive digital transformation. Requiring specific digital products, the Minister suggested building "footprint-free tourism products" with the application of science and technology and digital transformation.
Emphasizing that digital transformation is a mandatory requirement, which has received special attention from Party and State leaders with very clear instructions and policies, the Minister requested units and localities to start implementing and carrying out comprehensively.
Besides, the Minister also noted that in the process of digital transformation, the human factor must still be respected, "digitalization does not mean indifference but the human factor is still very important".
Seventh , it is necessary to strengthen destination management, inspect and control service quality, ensure safety, civilization and friendliness. Proposing to commend good examples and images in tourism, the Minister also requested to resolutely fight and overcome bad images such as price gouging in tourism.
Eighth, strengthen linkages in tourism. The Minister suggested that after merging and implementing the two-level local government, provinces and cities need to sit together to strengthen linkages, build products, distribution channels, and operations. Strengthening intra-industry linkages must also strengthen linkages in other fields.
Ninth , it is necessary to improve the quality of tourism human resources in a professional direction.
