Saigon Co.op records strong increase in purchasing power on National Day

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the occasion of National Day September 2, Saigon Co.op launched a "dramatic" promotion at more than 800 points of sale including Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, Cheers, Finelife, Sense City, SenseMarket..., increasing essential supplies by 20-30%, deeply discounting up to 50% on selected Vietnamese products in the program "Proud of Vietnamese Supermarkets" along with many unique incentives in response to Shopping Season 2025 launched by the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City.

The Concentrated Promotion Program - "Shopping Season" was launched from June 15, 2025, organized continuously in many phases with diverse incentives, up to 100%, creating conditions for consumers to access high-quality goods and services. According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue of Ho Chi Minh City in the first 7 months of 2025 reached 1.07 million billion VND, an increase of 15.5% over the same period, of which retail sales of goods reached 554,749 billion VND, an increase of 14.8% - the highest level in recent years.

As a pioneering retail enterprise responding to the program, Saigon Co.op has launched a series of promotions from June to September 2025 across the entire system, with many programs exceeding the usual framework. A series of essential items at Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Sense City, SC VivoCity... are discounted by more than 50%, combining a variety of promotional forms, attracting a large number of customers and increasing access to quality goods at good prices.

At the same time, Saigon Co.op also actively accompanies the "Responsible Green Tick" initiative of Ho Chi Minh City, building a safe and sustainable shopping ecosystem. Currently, there are more than 1,000 Green Tick products from 104 suppliers displayed separately at the supermarket, integrating QR codes to clearly indicate their origin, helping consumers easily identify and look up information.

The program "Proud of Vietnamese Supermarket 2025" takes place continuously for 21 days (from August 28 to September 17, 2025) at more than 800 Saigon Co.op points of sale nationwide, designed to anticipate the peak shopping season on National Day September 2. The event focuses on promoting high-quality Vietnamese goods with a series of large-scale promotions through nearly 30,000 essential product codes. In the Ho Chi Minh City area, many items are deeply discounted by 50 - 53%, exceeding the usual recommendation thanks to the flexible mechanism of Shopping Season.

The consecutive promotional activities such as buy 1 get 1 free, 8% cashback, free agricultural product basket, special edition mascot teddy bear on September 2 for customers wearing red clothes to visit and shop, 3 bonus points for member customers, along with a series of roadshows in 3 regions and livestream sales of aquatic products right at the supermarket have created a vibrant atmosphere. Thanks to that, the number of customers coming to shop at the Saigon Co.op system has increased dramatically, especially in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi , Da Nang, Can Tho, Tay Ninh... and urban areas.

Grasping the typical consumer demand during the Mid-Autumn Festival, Saigon Co.op identified moon cakes as a key product during the peak period at the end of the third quarter.
