To move towards sustainable development, Dong Nai has been selectively attracting investment, prioritizing high-tech, future technology, and environmentally friendly projects, while at the same time restructuring industrial space in a reasonable manner.
Continue to strongly attract investment in industrial parks
Attracting investment in industrial parks is inherently a strength of Dong Nai province. In 2024, Dong Nai province (old) will continue to maintain its position at the top of the country in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) with a total investment capital of 1.45 billion USD, an increase of 37% compared to 2023. Domestic enterprises invested more than 138 trillion VND in the province. For Binh Phuoc province (old), attracting 35 FDI projects in 2024 with a total newly registered investment of more than 639 million USD, reaching nearly 160% of the plan is also an important result.
In the first 5 months of this year alone, Dong Nai province (old) attracted over 1.2 billion USD in FDI, up 48% over the same period in 2024, ranking 4th in the country; Binh Phuoc province (old) attracted nearly 225 million USD in FDI with 33 investment projects and increased capital. Thus, Dong Nai province has only attracted over 1.4 billion USD in the first 5 months of the year. With the expanded scale and development space, the potential for attracting investment and developing enterprises in industrial parks will be wide open.
Along with the locality, investors in industrial parks are also expecting a new “wave” in attracting investment. To be ready to welcome the “wave”, industrial parks in the area need to demonstrate their competitiveness and advantages.
Long Thanh High-Tech Industrial Park (Amata Long Thanh) is under construction of infrastructure, with great advantages in attracting investment in modern industries and projects. Recently, this industrial park has cooperated and signed contracts with many large international corporations to lease land to build factories.
Representative of Amata Long Thanh Urban Joint Stock Company (investor of Amata Long Thanh infrastructure), Mr. Thai Hoang Nam said, Amata Long Thanh is ready to welcome enterprises to invest in high-tech projects in the industrial park.
According to a representative of the Industrial Park Development Corporation (Sonadezi), the company is a major investor in industrial park infrastructure in Dong Nai and neighboring localities. Currently, Sonadezi still has about 1,000 hectares of vacant land in the industrial parks invested by the unit, concentrated in Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old), and Binh Thuan (old). The company is researching, proposing and implementing investment in a number of new industrial park and industrial cluster projects with a total expected area of more than 2,300 hectares to meet the needs of investors.
According to Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, in 2025, Dong Nai aims to achieve a growth rate of 10% or more. The province will build new industrial parks, thereby increasing investment attraction in production and business, contributing greatly to economic growth. At the same time, the province always accompanies businesses, regularly meets with businesses to listen, remove difficulties, and help businesses operate effectively.
After merging into a province, the Dong Nai region (old) has more conditions to relocate industrial parks and clusters away from urban areas to focus on developing trade and services. On the contrary, the Binh Phuoc region (old) has more opportunities to attract investment and develop industry with the advantage of large land area; synchronous and modern investment in industrial infrastructure; convenient transportation.
Restructuring based on each strength
The newly formed Dong Nai province after the merger will have a large economic scale, a large number of industrial parks and the potential to attract investment as well as changes in industrial space and structure. Therefore, it is important that the province has reasonable adjustments and allocations to attract investment and develop sustainably.
According to the Dong Nai Industrial Park Management Board, in the coming time, the industrial parks will promote industrial restructuring towards the development of mechanical, chemical, electronic, high-tech and supporting technology industries... to serve the province's key industries.
Meanwhile, the industrial park that used to belong to Binh Phuoc (old) prioritizes the development of industries associated with agricultural raw material areas such as: food processing industry, mechanical industry serving agriculture and traditional industries, small-scale industry, moving some factories in traditional industrial parks to...
Currently, Dong Nai province has many industrial parks under construction, or approved for investment, preparing to deploy new construction to serve the investment and production needs of domestic and foreign enterprises. The province is orienting to create new industrial parks, develop specialized, high-tech, ecological industries, and promote in-depth investment to increase the added value of products, improve working conditions and protect the environment.
At the Workshop on Deploying Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo (on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation) and orientations for applying science and technology in production and management at enterprises organized by the Dong Nai Industrial Park Management Board at the end of May 2025, the provincial leaders assessed that Dong Nai is facing great opportunities to accelerate development. Dong Nai hopes that enterprises will be proactive and bold in investing and applying advanced technology solutions to improve competitiveness, create high-quality products and services, and contribute to the common development.
