Previously, during a screening session held locally, doctors from Saigon Ngo Gia Tu Eye Hospital examined the eyesight of hundreds of people. Through screening, 20 cases were indicated to need surgical intervention for eye diseases such as cataracts, pterygium, age-related blurred vision, etc.
In order to support people with treatment conditions, the Hospital has coordinated with the Provincial Police Youth Union and the People's Police University Youth Union to organize free shuttle buses, arrange union members and youth to support throughout the journey, ensuring safety and convenience for patients. In the first batch, 6 people participated, the second batch will continue to organize for the remaining cases.
Saigon Ngo Gia Tu Eye Hospital coordinated with the Youth Union of Dong Thap Provincial Police and the Youth Union of the People's Police University to bring a group of people in difficult circumstances to Ho Chi Minh City for free eye surgery. |
In Ho Chi Minh City, people will be re-examined, have necessary tests done and have surgery performed on the same day. All costs for examination, surgery and transportation are supported by Saigon Ngo Gia Tu Eye Hospital and sponsors, without collecting any fees from people.
The activity demonstrates the pioneering spirit and responsibility of the youth of Dong Thap Provincial Police and the People's Police University in social security work, especially in taking care of people's health in areas with many difficulties. At the same time, it contributes to strengthening the close relationship between the police force and the people in the area.
It is known that in the coming time, the Youth Union of Dong Thap Provincial Police will continue to coordinate with medical units to organize more free medical examination and treatment activities, bringing light and joy to the poor, the elderly, and the disadvantaged in society.
