Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has issued a document assigning the Department of Home Affairs to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and branches to study the proposal of the Provincial Red Cross Society on establishing a Steering Committee for voluntary blood donation and organizing a commune-level Red Cross Society after merging administrative units.

Lam Dong Provincial Red Cross Society has sent a document to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Committee proposing to establish a Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation and organize a commune-level Red Cross Society after merging with grassroots administrative units.

Accordingly, currently, implementing the policy of a two-level local government model, there is no longer a Steering Committee for voluntary blood donation at the district level, so the work of directing, mobilizing and organizing voluntary blood donation in localities has stopped working, the blood reserve at provincial hospitals has been exhausted, so the risk of blood shortage for patient treatment is very high.

In recent days, both General Hospitals in Lam Dong province have had to mobilize staff, employees and people to directly donate blood to save patients.

In the face of the above situation, the Lam Dong Provincial Red Cross Society - the Standing Agency of the Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee, realized that in the coming time, the risk of blood shortage for emergency and treatment services at hospitals in the province is very serious. Therefore, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Red Cross Society requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Lam Dong Province to pay attention and direct communes, wards and special zones in the province to establish grassroots Red Cross organizations to carry out charity and humanitarian tasks, contributing to the local Party Committees and authorities in performing well the work of social security, maintaining security, politics and social safety. At the same time, establish a Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation at the commune level to promptly organize and receive blood to promptly meet the needs of emergency and treatment for people, especially patients being treated at hospitals in the province.
