Funding support to build charity houses for poor households in Hung Ha commune

On July 7, the Provincial Red Cross Society organized a fund-raising ceremony to support the construction of a charity house for Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Hop Doai village, Hung Ha commune.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong is in a very difficult situation. Her husband died early, she is raising 2 small children alone, the 3 of them are living with her husband's brother's family. Ms. Huong is a freelancer with an unstable income. Given Ms. Huong's situation, the provincial Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity have provided 100 million VND to help Ms. Huong build a house. Along with financial support, volunteers from Habitat for Humanity will coordinate with local authorities to support the construction work with the hope that the house will be completed and put into use soon.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization operating in many countries around the world . Over the years, this organization has supported the implementation of many housing projects for poor households in the province. The Provincial Red Cross hopes that in the following years, Habitat for Humanity will continue to expand the scope of the project, increase the number of households supported to build new houses, adjust the criteria for selecting participating families, and increase the level of housing support for people so that more poor households and those in difficult circumstances can benefit.
