The political consultation aims to review the cooperation situation between the two countries in recent times, especially in implementing the agreements reached between the two countries' senior leaders during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Poland, and at the same time exchange measures to promote the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries and the two Foreign Ministries in the coming time, and discuss international and regional issues of mutual concern.
At the Political Consultation, Secretary of State of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bartoszewski warmly welcomed Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang; affirmed that Poland treasures the friendship formed and strengthened on the basis of political trust, common interests and values between the two countries over the past 75 years.
Polish Foreign Minister Bartoszewski stressed that the two countries currently have sufficient foundations to promote mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields, especially economics, trade and investment, for the development and prosperity of the two peoples and to contribute to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang expressed her pleasure at co-chairing the Political Consultation in the context of the two sides celebrating the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and actively promoting bilateral relations.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that the relationship between the two countries and peoples has always been nurtured and achieved many good results over the past 75 years; the Vietnamese people always appreciate and remember the valuable support and solidarity of the Polish people in the past struggle for independence and unification as well as in the current cause of renovation and socio-economic development; always attach importance to and wish to strengthen multi-faceted cooperation with Poland on both bilateral and multilateral levels, determined to effectively implement high-level commitments and agreements with Poland, bringing bilateral relations to a new level, increasingly substantive and effective.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and Secretary of State Bartoszewski agreed that in the coming time, the two sides will closely coordinate to arrange and carefully prepare for high-level visits, creating a solid political, diplomatic and legal foundation to establish and implement a long-term cooperation mechanism between the two countries, and regularly organize a Political Consultation mechanism between the two Foreign Ministries to coordinate and urge the implementation of high-level agreements, support ministries, branches and relevant agencies of the two countries to remove difficulties and promote cooperation in specific fields.
Acknowledging the close coordination between the two countries at international organizations and multilateral forums, especially the United Nations, the leaders of the two Foreign Ministries affirmed that they will continue to exchange and support each other's candidates to participate in the structures of the United Nations and other international organizations. At the same time, Vietnam supports Poland in strengthening relations with ASEAN, and Poland in turn supports Vietnam in strengthening relations with the European Union (EU).

Regarding economic, trade and investment cooperation, the two sides acknowledged the positive developments in bilateral trade, reaching 3.4 billion USD in 2024 (an increase of 23% compared to 2023); agreed on the need to effectively implement the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), remove technical barriers, open markets for each other's goods, especially products of both sides' strengths such as agriculture, forestry, fishery, textiles, footwear, medical equipment and pharmaceuticals... to further increase export turnover and ensure trade balance.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and the Secretary of State of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs agreed to work together to promote the ratification and implementation of the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) to create conditions for businesses of both sides to seize opportunities and invest conveniently, safely and effectively in projects and fields that are strengths and have great prospects for each side.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang asked Poland and the EU to acknowledge Vietnam's efforts in combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and asked for a voice so that the European Commission can soon remove the yellow card on Vietnam's seafood exports.
Regarding defense and security, the two sides support the defense and security agencies and enterprises of the two countries to actively participate in exhibitions and events in related fields held in each country, while enhancing exchanges, sharing experiences and promoting cooperation, especially in preventing cybercrime, organized crime, terrorism, drug trafficking, etc.; agreeing to promote negotiations, consensus and signing of corresponding cooperation documents.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang conveyed the invitation and expressed her hope that Poland will send a high-level delegation to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, which will take place in Hanoi in October 2025.
Appreciating the organization of many activities, events, and art performances in each country in the year of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Poland, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and the Polish Secretary of State agreed on the need to strengthen cultural, educational and training cooperation, including teaching and learning Vietnamese and Polish; support airlines to soon study and open direct flights between the capitals and major cities of the two countries to promote tourism, people-to-people exchange, as well as promote trade and investment.
The two sides agreed to promote the potential and room for cooperation in the fields of mineral exploration, exploitation and processing, green energy development, renewable energy, high technology, semiconductors, AI and many other fields.
Discussing international and regional issues of mutual concern, the two sides expressed concern over the tense situation in some regions, stressing that relevant parties need to exercise restraint, not use force or threaten to use force, and resolve disputes and conflicts by peaceful means on the basis of international law and the United Nations Charter.
Regarding the East Sea, the two sides emphasized the need to ensure peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, and respect international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
On this occasion, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang thanked and requested the Polish Government to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Poland to do business, live stably, integrate and contribute to the development of Poland, while promoting the role of a bridge to promote the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

On the same day, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang greeted Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski.
At the meeting, Minister Sikorski affirmed that Vietnam and Poland have a good traditional friendship, tested through many ups and downs of history; at the same time, he emphasized that in the context of the current complicated regional and world situation, the two sides need to coordinate closely to respond to global challenges, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and cooperation in the two regions.
Determined to work with Vietnam to promote and deepen cooperation in many fields, especially effectively implementing high-level agreements, Minister Sikorski welcomed the resumption and regular maintenance of the Political Consultation mechanism between the two Foreign Ministries to discuss very practical and specific issues in bilateral relations and coordinate in multilateral forums.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that Poland is an important partner of Vietnam in Central and Eastern Europe. The two sides need to promote the foundation of 75 years of traditional friendship, promote the potential strengths and position of Vietnam in ASEAN and Poland in the EU to promote cooperation in new fields, serve the development goals of each country and contribute to peace, cooperation and development in the world.
On this occasion, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang conveyed to the Polish Foreign Minister the invitation to visit Vietnam from Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, and thanked Minister Radosław Sikorski for always showing good feelings and valuable support for Vietnam and the Vietnam-Poland relationship.
