The appearance of Phan Huy's designs at one of the most prestigious fashion weeks in the world: Haute Couture Week in Paris, France, marks the development of a Vietnamese brand reaching international standards.
“This is a very important show in my career, a big milestone in the journey of bringing Phan Huy's designs closer to the world ,” designer Phan Huy shared.
Inspired by the Vietnamese countryside, the collection is a leisurely stroll through familiar scenes: a small river running through the village, thatched roofs shimmering in the sunlight, barefoot children playing, and adults working hard under the early summer sun.
Neither sad nor nostalgic, Phan Huy chose to tell the story of his homeland with gentleness and sincerity. “I am not trying to tell a big story. I just want to mention small things that were once very beautiful and are always beautiful in our memories,” said the designer.
The collection is highlighted by a design that recreates the image of the conical hat, a typical symbol of Vietnamese women, using sophisticated tying techniques and sparkling crystals. The light reflected on the fabric surface creates a gentle effect, honoring the feminine, soft beauty within the framework of high fashion.
Along with conical hats, many other symbols from rural life were also brought to the stage: paper fans, fishing nets, banana leaves, straw, charcoal stoves, fishing boats, etc.
Each design not only evokes images but also smells, sounds and feelings, as if touching every piece of memory that is so Vietnamese.
Phan Huy spent 8 months preparing the collection, collecting details from stories, pictures, familiar folk songs... and then transforming them into a luxurious, poetic yet familiar design language.
The shape of this outfit is built on Phan Huy's typical technique: elastic mesh with color transitions, creating a soft light effect with each step.
The technique of creating sculptural forms helps to simulate tree trunks, haystacks, rock holes or kites. He also applies traditional craft methods such as weaving (reminiscent of basket making, lantern making, net weaving) and hand embroidery, crystal attachment... to recreate water drops, sunlight or cracks in the ground.
A carefully selected neutral palette: lime white, chicken fat, red, ash gray, silver, beige… evokes rusticity and country light.
The main materials in the collection are: chiffon, organza, silk, tulle... thin, light, flowing fabrics, helping to convey the romantic, aesthetic spirit typical of Phan Huy.
The show will take place at Palais de Tokyo, an iconic space for European contemporary art, chosen by many major fashion houses. With its raw concrete architecture, this space is considered by designer Phan Huy as the ideal visual counterpoint for the collection: a place where Vietnamese rural materials meet the modern spirit of Paris.
Born in Quang Tri and graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, designer Phan Huy has a deep love for the national culture, people and nature of his homeland. These elements are often transformed into an emotional design language that is both aesthetic and modern.
With this Fall - Winter 2025/2026 collection, Phan Huy not only tells a personal story, but also revives collective memories, connects tradition with the times, and once again proves that Vietnamese fashion can confidently stand shoulder to shoulder on the international stage.
Designer Phan Huy (real name Phan Nguyen Nguyen Huy, born in 1999) graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture. He was born in Quang Tri, Central Vietnam. As a young designer who loves the national identity, people, and landscapes of Vietnam, Phan Huy often incorporates familiar elements of life into his collections through his fashion perspective.
