The meeting was also attended by Deputy Director of the Vietnam Information and Communications Department Nguyen Hong Minh.
This event not only contributes to further strengthening the existing cooperative relationship but also opens up new promising prospects for the development of sports between the two countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet expressed his respect and deep gratitude to Ambassador Olivier Brochet and the French Embassy for their valuable contributions and continuous support in the development of Vietnamese sports. The Director especially emphasized the meaningful activities that the Ambassador has devoted to Vietnamese sports, especially before the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. The direct visits and encouragement to athletes at training centers across the country are concrete evidence of the Ambassador's affection and dedication.
With such valuable sentiments and support, Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet expressed his hope that Ambassador Olivier Brochet will continue to accompany Vietnam for a long time, reaching new heights in sports, thereby actively contributing to effectively promoting the cooperative relationship between the two countries.
For his part, Ambassador Olivier Brochet highly appreciated the positive results in the cooperation between the French Embassy and the Vietnam Sports Administration in recent times. The Ambassador affirmed that this strong development is clearly demonstrated through a series of diverse and rich activities continuously implemented before, during and after the 2024 Paris Summer Olympic Games.
Notably, Ambassador Olivier Brochet specifically mentioned the training program using My Coach Pro software for national team coaches - an activity that has received extremely positive feedback. To optimize the effectiveness of this tool, the Vietnamese version will be officially launched next September. The Ambassador expressed his hope that the Vietnam Sports Administration will actively spread the practical benefits of My Coach Pro, contributing to quickly improving the achievements of Vietnamese athletes in the near future.
The Ambassador also shared great joy when the cooperative efforts between the two sides created an important premise, attracting funding to support activities to develop Vietnamese sports.
Ambassador Olivier Brochet once again affirmed: sports are always considered an important pillar that France wishes to promote in bilateral relations. With many similarities in culture and development aspirations, the two sides can absolutely work together to promote cooperation in the field of sports, bringing this relationship to a new level, worthy of the Vietnam - France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. To realize this goal, the Ambassador hopes that the two sides will carry out more activities, not only stopping at top sports but also expanding to sports for everyone.
The reception took place on the afternoon of July 8, at the Vietnam Sports Administration.
Fully agreeing with the proposals from Ambassador Olivier Brochet, Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet expressed his hope that France will support Vietnamese sports to benefit from the international standard management and training system of high-level athletes in France, especially in the preparation phase for the 2026 Asian Games.
Not only stopping at the activities mentioned in the Memorandum of Cooperation, Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet hopes that the Vietnam - France sports cooperation relationship will be expanded more diversely, including exchanging research delegations, supporting the training of experts and athletes in many different sports...
In particular, in order for cooperation programs in the field of sports to be implemented specifically and effectively, Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet completely agrees with Ambassador Olivier Brochet's proposal to advise the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Life of France to consider signing an official cooperation agreement on sports. This is considered a breakthrough step, creating a solid legal corridor, bringing the sports cooperation relationship between the two countries to a new level, more sustainable and effective in the future.
