RT reported on July 3 that President Trump said his "quite lengthy" phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin covered many important issues but did not make concrete progress in reaching a ceasefire agreement in Ukraine.
"We had a phone call on July 3rd. It was a long discussion. We talked about a lot of things, including Iran," President Trump told reporters before boarding Air Force One on July 3.

"Of course, we also mentioned the conflict in Ukraine. But I'm not happy about that. We have not made any progress in reaching a ceasefire agreement in Ukraine," the White House boss continued.
The Kremlin confirmed that President Donald Trump had urged Russia to end its "hostile" actions in Ukraine "as soon as possible", while President Putin reaffirmed Moscow's readiness for negotiations.
President Putin added that Russia will strive to achieve its goals, namely to eliminate the root causes of the Ukrainian conflict.
