'Actions speak louder than words'
On July 2, Ninh Binh FC officially announced the head coach for the 2025-2026 V-League season. Mr. Gerard Albadalejo, a Spanish coach born in 1983, will lead the team in its first appearance in the highest league of Vietnamese football.

Coach Gerard Albadajelo said: “I am very happy to receive such a warm welcome in Vietnam. We came here to accompany the team, and together we aim for new successes. The team will continue what we did last season to prepare well for the upcoming season. I believe that our greatest strength is the spirit of solidarity as a family. We will share the joy of victory and overcome difficult times together. I see this as an exciting and inspiring challenge. And now it is time to get to work because actions are always more important than words."

Who is the new coach of Ninh Binh FC?
Coach Gerard is not a stranger to Spanish professionals. He has led teams in professional leagues such as Lleida Esportiu, Orihuela or Badalona, and has experience working with many young players.
In the Spanish King's Cup, he helped Lleida create a surprise by eliminating Real Sociedad, a team with a rich tradition in La Liga. Gerard's team also played fairly with Atletico Madrid under coach Diego Simeone.
Although unable to create any surprises, Lleida still left their mark with disciplined play, high pressing and unflinching fighting spirit against the famous team from the capital Madrid.
Before signing a contract with Ninh Binh FC, Coach Gerard spent more than two months learning about Vietnamese football and opponents in the V-League. This is a sign of careful preparation by both the coach and the team.

Along with him, a team of five Spanish assistants were also present to support professional work: from fitness, goalkeeper to data analysis and injury recovery.
With a youthful style, in-depth tactical analysis and understanding of coaching technology, Mr. Gerard is expected to help Ninh Binh FC become a team strong in expertise, physical strength, and spirit right in the first season in V-League.
Will Ninh Binh FC compete for the championship?
Ninh Binh FC showed clear ambition in its first season participating in the V-League. The club recruited a series of quality domestic faces such as Duc Chien, Chau Ngoc Quang, Dung Quang Nho, Tran Bao Toan and the V-League champion striker – Gustavo Henrique.
The addition of Spanish foreign players follows the consistent direction of the coaching staff. The selection of a young foreign coach with a modern mindset and commitment to youth training is considered a step in line with Ninh Binh FC's long-term strategy.
The Hoa Lu ancient capital football team is quietly preparing systematically, aiming for a stable season, accumulating experience and creating a solid foundation for the future. With the presence of coach Gerard, Ninh Binh FC enters the new season not only with a new set of players, but also with a new spirit: dedication to the fans, playing football in an organized manner, and ready to accept challenges with determination and solidarity.
