The event took place in the context that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is urgently collecting opinions to complete the Draft Strategy for Communication and Promotion of Vietnam's Image Abroad, expected to be submitted to the Prime Minister in July 2025.
This is one of the important activities to build a comprehensive strategy to spread Vietnamese values in the new development stage.
The seminar is organized to consult with media experts, contributing to supplementing the theoretical and practical basis for the Strategy, and is expected to have the participation of representatives of ministries, branches, press agencies, media experts, large domestic enterprises, along with representatives of a number of diplomatic agencies operating in Vietnam.
According to the Draft, the goal by 2030 is to increase the level of positive recognition of Vietnam's image in international press and digital platforms to at least 80%, organize at least 10 key international communication campaigns, attract 35 million international visitors and make the cultural industry contribute 8% to GDP.
The strategy also identifies communication as a key tool to enhance Vietnam's position in the international arena, while promoting tourism , cultural industry, innovation and comprehensive integration.
Support solutions such as enhancing local capacity, building distinctive brands, expanding cooperation with international media and promoting the role of foreign press will also be discussed at the Dialogue.
At the event, policy makers, communication experts and stakeholders will contribute ideas to complete the Draft, as well as share experiences and discuss directions for telling Vietnam's story to the world in a convincing, effective and suitable way for multi-platform communication trends.
