Rice vermicelli production at Duong Van Production Facility, Ha Vu village, Hoang Hoa commune.
According to statistics from the Provincial New Rural Development Program Coordination Office, by July 2025, Thanh Hoa had 645 OCOP products, including 2 5-star OCOP products and 59 4-star products. After 6 years of development, hundreds of OCOP entities have participated in re-certifying or upgrading the stars for products, and most of the products after being recognized have made efforts to innovate to gain a foothold in the market.
Recognized as an OCOP product in 2023, Duong Van rice vermicelli production facility in Hoang Hoa commune determined to continue to innovate and develop products to be worthy of the OCOP title. Immediately after being recognized as OCOP, the production facility invested in an automatic vermicelli production line from the dough mixing stage to vermicelli pressing and rolling, especially improving the traditional vermicelli drying mat with mesh to ensure food hygiene and safety.
Mr. Le Van Duong, the owner of the facility, shared: "To produce white, chewy vermicelli, ensuring food hygiene and safety, the facility always adheres to the requirements of not using bleaching chemicals, not mixing colorants, not using preservatives, drying the vermicelli naturally under the gentle sunlight so that the vermicelli gradually dries, and packaging and preserving the product according to the correct process. Therefore, Duong Van rice vermicelli products have guaranteed quality, beautiful color, and delicious taste. On average, the facility produces 2 - 3 quintals of vermicelli per day."
Not only focusing on improving product quality, Duong Van production facility has designed and printed eye-catching product packaging, both expressing tradition and having its own unique features to attract customers and consumers.
Exploiting the local potential and advantages in growing and processing macadamia products, Thanh Phat Macadamia Cooperative in Thuong Ninh commune has invested in machinery systems, input materials as well as human resources to maintain product production. With efforts to find markets, innovate production methods, diversify product designs and comply with food hygiene and safety procedures in processing, in 2023, Thanh Phat Damia macadamia products were certified as 3-star OCOP products.
Thanh Phat Macadamia Cooperative displays OCOP Damia macadamia products and some macadamia processed products at an event organized by the province.
Director of Thanh Phat Macadamia Cooperative Do Trong Hoc said: After being recognized as an OCOP product, the production capacity and consumption market of the product increased. Not only focusing on purchasing raw materials, but also in processing products, we have made many innovations. Besides traditional dried macadamia, we process many more types of products to meet the needs and tastes of consumers such as macadamia diet cakes; macadamia nut milk; shelled macadamia..., with beautiful designs, labels, and traceability of product origin, creating trust for consumers. To increase product consumption, the facility has connected with restaurant chains, supermarkets, tours, and tourist attractions inside and outside the province."
Thanh Phat Macadamia Cooperative has also invested hundreds of millions of VND to purchase freeze-drying machines, packaging machines, vacuum-sealing machines and peeling machines to preserve the flavor and color of the product. Thanks to that, the product is favored by consumers and widely consumed in Thanh Hoa and many provinces and cities across the country.
According to many producers, although the design, packaging, and OCOP title determine the customer's choice, product quality is the important step to gain consumer trust. Therefore, before and after being recognized as an OCOP product, producers always innovate and upgrade so that OCOP products not only dominate the provincial market, but also reach out and maintain domestic market share, and then export.
Head of Planning - Synthesis Department, Head of OCOP Management Team (Office of the Provincial New Rural Development Program Coordination) Phan Xuan Hung said: In addition to supporting and encouraging entities to develop OCOP products, the office regularly coordinates with localities to inspect, monitor the implementation, maintain and improve the quality of OCOP products. At the same time, many training courses and forums are organized to share experiences in building and developing OCOP products so that entities can make efforts to innovate their products. Thereby, many products have increasingly affirmed their quality and consumption market, gradually reaching out to the world .
