Review and clarify customer complaints about high electricity bills

In response to complaints from some customers in Phu Tho province regarding the high increase in electricity bills in June 2025 compared to previous months, the Electricity industry in general and Phu Tho Electricity Company in particular have been proactively reviewing all meter reading data, checking and information comparing, and promptly implementing activities to answer and support customers in a timely and transparent manner.

Analyzing the actual situation, Phu Tho Electricity Company gave 4 main reasons: June 2025 recorded record high temperatures in many northern provinces, including Phu Tho province with many days of temperatures exceeding 36oC, the demand for cooling devices such as air conditioners and electric fans in household increased sharply. This is one of the main reasons leading to high electricity consumption.

In addition, this is the summer vacation time for students of all levels, causing the time and frequency of using electrical equipment to increase, leading to an increase in consumption. In many cases, customers in previous months used at a low level, but this month due to increased electricity use, they have to pay at a high level, the amount of electricity may only increase by a few hundred kWh, but the amount of money increases very high.

In some cases, the wire behind the customer's meter does not have enough cross-section, the insulation cracks when the ambient temperature increases, the household load increases, causing overload and electric leakage, causing power loss and increasing the electricity bill.

In response to public complaints, Phu Tho Electricity Company has clearly stated its stance of always being open to feedback and ready to cooperate with governmental authorities to clarify all issues in an objective and transparent manner. The company has requested its affiliated units to thoroughly inspect cases of sudden increases in electricity output, and at the same time organize consultations on economical electricity use, directly explain to customers, guide them in checking meter readings, comparing bills and using electronic lookup channels such as the EVNNPC customer care application or customer care website. All inquiries from the public are received through many channels, in which people are encouraged to report via the switchboard, the EVNNPC customer care App, or go directly to the transaction offices for quick and complete support.

The Electricity Industry in general and Phu Tho Power Company in particular are committed to continuing to accompany customers and strictly handle any errors that are detected, while proactively responding to feedback with the highest sense of responsibility. Ensuring the legitimate rights of customers and maintaining people's trust are the consistent goals that the entire industry is always determined to implement.
