On September 3, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that a low-pressure area had just formed in the central part of the East Sea. The agency has not yet commented on the possibility of this low-pressure area strengthening into a tropical depression or storm, nor on the direction of movement of this low-pressure area.

Due to the influence of this low pressure area combined with the tropical convergence zone, in the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang , the Gulf of Thailand, the eastern sea area of the North East Sea, the middle and south East Sea (including Truong Sa special zone) there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Forecast for the day and night of September 3, the sea area from Quang Ngai to Ca Mau , Ca Mau to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the eastern sea area of the northern East Sea, the central and southern East Sea area (including Truong Sa special zone) will have scattered showers and thunderstorms.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong winds of level 6-7 and waves over 2m high.

In addition, the offshore sea area from Khanh Hoa to Lam Dong and the southern East Sea area (including Truong Sa special zone) has strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8, with waves 1.5-3m high.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

The hydrometeorological agency forecasts that in September, the number of storms and tropical depressions in the East Sea will be at a level equivalent to the average of many years in the same period (about 2-4 storms, 1-2 of which will make landfall in Vietnam) and may affect Vietnam's mainland.

Regarding heat, the hydrometeorological agency assessed that it is likely to appear locally in the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue and the South Central Coast, concentrated in the first half of September.

Regarding widespread rain, the Northern Delta region and provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai are likely to experience some widespread heavy rains. Other places across the country will have showers and thunderstorms for many days during the month, with some days possibly experiencing moderate to heavy rain.

The hydrometeorological agency forecasts that dangerous weather phenomena such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind will continue to occur nationwide.

In August, there were 2 storms and 2 tropical depressions in the East Sea, of which 2 storms (Kajiki storm - storm number 5 and Nongfa storm - storm number 6) and 1 tropical depression directly affected the mainland of our country.
