Understanding the business

Over the years, the business community in the province has made important contributions to the province's economic growth, state budget revenue and import-export turnover. Recognizing that compliance with Customs Law (PLHQ) is important for enterprises in import-export activities, the Regional Customs Department XVII (HQKV17) has made efforts to disseminate and propagate PLHQ to enterprises, especially small enterprises and newly established enterprises, to grasp import-export goods policies and core documents on customs procedures and tax procedures for import-export goods to ensure convenience for enterprises.

In recent times, information and propaganda activities have been carried out in many forms and means such as: direct information at customs offices, through business dialogue conferences, document posting boards at customs procedures locations, hotline numbers, emails, posting on websites and social networking sites. In addition, the Customs Sub-Department of Region 17 has also coordinated with central and local news agencies and newspapers to carry out this work well. From the efforts of the customs sector, many businesses have become aware that compliance with the Law on Customs brings many benefits in import and export activities.

Regional Customs Branch XVII strives to reform administrative procedures and modernize customs management

Nguyen Ngoc Thanh, Director of the General Department of Import and Export Management of King Honor Paper Products Manufacturing Company Limited, said: “Located in Duc Hoa commune, the company produces paper cups, paper trays and many paper products serving 100% of the export market in many countries around the world such as the US, Canada, Australia and some European countries. In recent times, thanks to the propaganda and support of the Customs sector, the company has promptly grasped new legal documents to properly implement them. Compliance with the Customs sector helps speed up the customs clearance of goods. In addition to proactively propagating new legal documents, the difficulties related to mechanisms and policies of enterprises in production and import-export activities have also been promptly resolved by the sector.”

To develop the HQ-Enterprise partnership towards building a professional - transparent - effective HQ force, HQ Sub-Department Region 17 strives to reform administrative procedures and modernize HQ management. Accordingly, the unit focuses on implementing solutions to create openness and convenience for import and export goods while still ensuring state management of HQ in accordance with the provisions of the Law. Import and export goods are processed and cleared within the prescribed time as committed in the customer service declaration.

According to Deputy Head of Customs Sub-Department Region 17 Le Nam Quoc, Customs Sub-Department Region 17 strengthens management and supervision to promptly resolve problems related to customs policies and procedures for enterprises; for problems beyond its authority, Customs Sub-Department Region 17 will consult with superiors for specific implementation instructions; monitor the processing of on-site import-export declarations that have not passed through the monitoring area on the system; urge customs at border gates and outside border gates to review and handle taxes on export declarations without corresponding import declarations; urge and remind enterprises to notify the status of using tax-free imported goods in accordance with regulations.

As of August 14, 2025, Customs Sub-Department Region 17 has processed over 620,400 customs declarations, an increase of 22% over the same period in 2024. Import-export turnover reached 20.80 billion USD, an increase of 19.57% over the same period in 2024. Of which, exports are mainly products of the garment, footwear, metal products, iron and steel products, electricity, paper products, etc. with a total export turnover of 11.53 billion USD. Import items are mainly textile materials, non-ferrous metals, machinery, equipment, iron and steel, cotton, fiber, yarn, natural rubber latex, raw cashew nuts, etc. with a total import turnover of 9.27 billion USD.

Create "leverage" for import and export

With the viewpoint of "Tay Ninh government and enterprises are like two friends accompanying each other to develop together, the success of enterprises is the success of the province", in recent times, the province has always paid attention to strongly and substantially improving the investment environment, creating the most favorable conditions for domestic and foreign enterprises to promote trade, expand cooperation, and develop production and business activities in the province.

In order to connect and support the development of export of goods and services of enterprises in the province with domestic and foreign buyers and importers, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize the Conference on connecting the supply chain of import-export goods and e-commerce (e-commerce) in Tay Ninh province in 2025. Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Huynh Van Quang Hung said that the Conference on connecting the supply chain of import-export goods and e-commerce in Tay Ninh province in 2025 is expected to be held on September 6, 2025 at the Thong Nhat Hall of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee with an expected scale of 600 delegates, including: representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, international organizations, import-export enterprises, logistics enterprises, distribution systems, large e-commerce platforms in 17 countries such as the US, China, Australia, Japan, Sweden, Latvia, UK, Netherlands, Austria, United Arab Emirates (UAE), ... to directly connect with enterprises in Tay Ninh province. In addition, the conference also has the participation of major distributors and reputable e-commerce platforms such as: Aeon, Walmart, Central Retail, Amazon, Alibaba,...

The business community in the province has continuously made important contributions to the economic growth, state budget revenue and import-export turnover of the province.

The conference on connecting the supply chain of import-export goods and e-commerce in Tay Ninh province in 2025 is an important event to promote, connect trade, and boost import-export activities of goods and services between Tay Ninh province's enterprises and domestic and foreign enterprises. For the program to be successful, the Department of Industry and Trade continues to closely coordinate with departments, branches and sectors to implement the contents and tasks to ensure the requirements and progress set out, and at the same time develop plans to handle situations when they arise.

From July 1, Long An province and Tay Ninh province (old) merged into Tay Ninh province. After the merger, the whole province has 1,826 import-export enterprises. The goods of the enterprises have been exported to hundreds of countries and regions around the world. Many products are exported to "difficult" markets such as: the US, Japan, Korea, countries of the European Union (EU),...

In recent times, to motivate enterprises in the province to expand export markets and participate deeply in the global value chain, the Department of Industry and Trade has advised the province to deploy a variety of trade promotion activities. In addition to traditional trade promotion activities, the Department of Industry and Trade has applied digital transformation to promote trade and promote e-commerce, thereby contributing to supporting enterprises in developing production and boosting exports. At the same time, to meet the increasing demands of the international market, the province also encourages enterprises to focus on building brands towards green production and investing in environmentally friendly products because in addition to product quality and price, this is also one of the factors that help build a sustainable brand for enterprises.

As the only gateway connecting the West, Tay Ninh province also has a favorable geographical location when adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City, bordering Dong Nai province, Dong Thap province and the Kingdom of Cambodia, with geographical advantages, the province has a lot of potential in logistics development. To facilitate trade, and at the same time help businesses have more opportunities to promote import and export activities, the province focuses on calling for and attracting investment in logistics projects, especially transport infrastructure, warehouse infrastructure and application of new technology in logistics.

From the available potentials and the high determination and great efforts of the entire political system and business community, we believe that the province's import-export turnover will continue to maintain a positive growth momentum, thereby contributing to creating momentum for the province's economic growth in the coming time./.
