For the first time, the whole country held the opening ceremony at the same time, with the same rituals for all levels of education.

Live TV

This year's opening ceremony, in addition to the individual activities of the schools, from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., delegates, teachers, students and pupils attended a general program organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Education and Training will be organized and broadcast live. Important ceremonies will be performed in the general program, including saluting the flag and singing the national anthem. General Secretary To Lam will give a speech and beat the drum to open the school year.

Each school's own programs and activities will start earlier from 7am to before 8am or continue after the general program ends.

Ms. Tran Thi Hai Yen, principal of Tran Phu High School (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi ), said that a week before the opening day, the school's students had many meaningful activities, mainly to help them have a joyful and comfortable mindset to enter the new school year.

Ms. Cao Thanh Nga, principal of Phan Huy Chu High School (Dong Da, Hanoi), said that the school is a bridge point of Hanoi connecting to the National Convention Center (where the live general program takes place), so it must focus on preparing equipment and transmission lines to avoid problems during the opening ceremony.

With this year's special opening ceremony, each school in Hanoi will arrange and assign students to attend differently depending on each grade and level. Accordingly, some kindergartens and primary schools will arrange for students in lower grades to attend the opening ceremony in class, watching on TV screens. Students in higher grades will gather in the school yard to watch on the lead screen.

According to the leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, after the opening ceremony, schools will not let students learn the subject content immediately but will learn topics such as fire prevention, accident prevention, education on civilized and elegant lifestyle...

No more clutter

No longer cluttered with rocks, soil, construction materials... like before (article "Postponing the school opening date due to slow construction" - Tuoi Tre on August 20, 2025), the yard of Chu Van An Secondary School, Cau Ong Lanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City has changed these days.

A fence was erected at the end of the yard, separating the school yard from the new construction site (including boarding area C, parking lot, and sports field).

Ms. Than Thi Tuyet Nhung, principal of Chu Van An Secondary School, said: "The repair of existing classrooms A and B is in the final stages such as: connecting the electrical system, fire prevention and fighting, repairing the toilets... The contractor is committed to handing over this repair project before the opening ceremony."

According to Ms. Nhung, Chu Van An students returned to school at the end of August 2025, a few days later than the school opening schedule of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. "As for the opening ceremony, we held it at the same time as schools across the country.

After the performance, there will be a welcoming ceremony for 6th grade students. The principal will give a speech and congratulate the students on their new school year. At exactly 8am, our school will connect to the National Convention Center so that students and teachers can watch the special opening ceremony associated with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of National Education," Ms. Nhung informed.

Similarly, construction at Duc Tri Secondary School, Cau Ong Lanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City is also taking place in a hurry. Classrooms and schoolyards are in the final stages of tiling the floors, completing doors...

According to the board of directors of Duc Tri Secondary School, it is expected that on September 3, the partner will hand over the 2nd and 3rd floors with 19 classrooms and the school yard area, and fence off the unfinished construction so that the school can prepare for the opening ceremony of the new school year. It is expected that by September 30, the contractor will hand over all the remaining classrooms on the 1st and ground floors.

Ensure equipment and transmission lines

Thanh An Primary School (Thanh An Commune, Ho Chi Minh City) has a total of 256 students for the 2025-2026 school year. By the afternoon of September 2, the school's board of directors had prepared for the opening ceremony to take place on September 5 with two parts, in person and online.

"The school has checked the transmission lines as well as the equipment to ensure that students, staff and teachers of the school can participate in an online opening ceremony as if they were participating directly. We have had more than 10 days to prepare, so everything is now complete," said Mr. Le Huu Binh, principal of Thanh An Primary School, Ho Chi Minh City.

At To Ky Secondary School, Hoc Mon Commune, Ho Chi Minh City, preparations for the special opening ceremony on September 5 have also been completed. This is a school with more than 2,900 students, so preparing for an online opening ceremony will require more equipment.

Accordingly, the school has signed a contract to rent six large TV screens to install in the school yard for students, teachers, and staff to watch the opening ceremony online. These TV screens are equipped with transmission equipment to ensure that students can watch the opening ceremony online smoothly, limiting connection loss incidents.

Many policies are implemented

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son shared that the 2025-2025 school year marks the 80th anniversary of the education and training sector implementing four important laws: the Law on Teachers, the Law on Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Education Law, the Amended Law on Higher Education, and the Amended Law on Vocational Education.

The implementation of newly issued resolutions and those expected to be issued in the near future such as modernizing education and training, exempting tuition fees for students from preschool to high school, universalizing preschool education for children aged 3-5...

The 2025-2026 school year is also the year to evaluate the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program, overcome shortcomings to improve teaching quality, innovate teaching methods, and evaluate and test.

Ready for the big ceremony

As the only college in the country that will have a "bridge" in the opening ceremony that will be broadcast live for the first time, by the afternoon of September 2, Cao Thang Technical College had basically completed the preparations for this big event. Dr. Le Dinh Kha - the school's principal - said that the details from sound, lighting, program content... have been carefully prepared by the school and related parties to have the most complete ceremony.

At Far East College, preparations for the opening day of September 5 have also been completed. Ms. Phan Thi Le Thu - Vice Principal of the school - said that this ceremony was organized in the spirit of neatness. On this occasion, the school will award new students many scholarships, including scholarships equivalent to 100% of the first semester tuition and scholarships for students in difficult circumstances.

In addition to the ceremony, the departments will present demonstrations of new technologies that will be applied in teaching in the new school year, such as VR, AR or electric cars... so that students can visualize the new equipment they will learn in the future. Ms. Thu added that in addition to the joint ceremony with the Ministry of Education and Training, another event will be organized by the school specifically for its new students after they have fully enrolled in the school.

Similarly, Dr. Lam Thanh Hien - principal of Lac Hong University - said that in recent years, the school has mainly organized the opening ceremony in the form of a festival for new students, usually taking place at the end of October after they have settled into their studies. During this festival, students will participate in many sports, cultural and club activities, increasing their spirit and motivation for the new school year. On this occasion, the school also awarded scholarships, tuition waivers and surprise gifts to encourage new students. "We do not focus on a ceremony with too many rituals but want new students to have many meaningful activities," said Mr. Hien.
