Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son was appointed as Director of Hanoi National University.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son has just been appointed by the Prime Minister as Chairman of the Council and Director of Hanoi National University.

On September 3, the Prime Minister signed a decision to transfer and appoint Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, to the position of Chairman of the Council and Director of Hanoi National University. The decision takes effect from the date of signing.

Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Minh Son was born in 1969, his hometown is Huong Yen. He graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1994 and received his PhD in Control and Automation from Dresden University of Technology, Germany in 1998.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son was appointed Director of Hanoi National University.

He was a lecturer at the Faculty of Electricity, Hanoi University of Science and Technology; held the position of Head of Training Department. He was then Vice Principal in charge of science and technology, postgraduate training, international training, communications and public relations.

In 2015, Mr. Son was appointed Rector of Hanoi University of Science and Technology and by August 2020 was Chairman of the University Council.

In October 2020, Mr. Hoang Minh Son was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training until now.

Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Minh Son received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister in 2009, the 3rd class Labor Medal in 2017 and ministerial-level certificates of merit in 2006 and 2018.
