Research on adding Mang Den and Van Phong planning to the airport system

The Ministry of Construction has just submitted to the Prime Minister for approval the task of adjusting the Master Plan for the development of the national airport and seaport system for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

According to the Ministry of Construction , the national airport system planning is determined to be open and dynamic, creating a foundation for socio-economic development, promoting harmonious development between regions; at the same time, closely linked to the task of ensuring national defense, security, and protecting airspace sovereignty. The planning also aims to effectively support emergency and relief work and enhance synchronous connectivity with other modes of transport.

At the same time, the policy is to mobilize all resources to invest in developing aviation infrastructure, ensuring harmony of interests between the State, people and businesses.

The time to adjust the airport system planning is expected to be about 3 months.

The planning adjustment is carried out on the principle of ensuring consistency and synchronization between the master plan for the development of the national airport system and other transport infrastructure plans; at the same time, ensuring inheritance, continuity, stability and hierarchy in the national planning system.

Planning must also comply with current technical standards and regulations, be compatible with new technology and material trends, and be associated with a modern management and exploitation model, save energy, minimize environmental pollution and adapt to climate change.

One of the key objectives of this planning adjustment is to study the addition of Mang Den airport ( Kon Tum province) and Van Phong airport (Khanh Hoa province) to the national airport system. At the same time, consider updating and adjusting some other contents in the planning if necessary.

The estimated time for planning adjustment is about 3 months, from the time the task is approved until it is submitted to the Prime Minister for consideration.

The Ministry of Construction is assigned to be the agency organizing the preparation and adjustment of the Master Plan for the development of the national airport and seaport system for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. The Ministry is responsible for organizing and implementing all steps in accordance with the provisions of the law on planning and related regulations.

During the implementation process, the Ministry of Construction is allowed to proactively adjust local content and tasks, depending on research requirements, to ensure planning quality and progress.
