Discover the newly emerging billion-dollar deer farm in Ha Tinh

Through a period of learning from experience, in April 2025, Xuyen Son Production, Trade, Service and Tourism Cooperative in Hoa Son village (Cam Hung commune) boldly invested nearly 5 billion VND to build a modern deer farm and test-raised more than 50 deer. On an area of over 2,000m², the model not only brings many profit prospects but also affirms its outstanding economic potential.

After a period of caring for and developing the herd, currently, the deer farm of Xuyen Son Cooperative has raised nearly 100 deer. Of which, 10 have produced antlers. Mr. Cao Van Viet - representative of the Cooperative happily shared: "We have put a lot of heart and effort into this model. Thanks to proper care, up to now, 10 deer have produced antlers. The good news is that the quality of the antlers is very good, with an average of more than 1.4 kg per pair".

To achieve such productivity and quality of deer antlers, Xuyen Son Cooperative has applied a scientific and methodical care process, which is closely monitored.

Anh Viet shared: "We attach great importance to providing a complete and balanced diet for deer. Green roughage such as elephant grass, tree leaves, corn... ensures quantity and quality. In addition, we supplement with concentrated feed such as corn, soybeans so that the deer has enough protein, vitamins and minerals. The diet is also flexibly adjusted according to each stage of the deer's development, from young deer, pregnant female deer to male deer in the antler season".

The living environment of deer is also a factor that Xuyen Son Cooperative pays special attention to. composed, the deer farm is designed to be airy and clean with a system of sun and rain protection and separate areas for each group of deer such as: male deer, female deer and fawn.

Mr. Viet emphasized: "We always ensure that the barn floor is cleaned regularly and kept clean to minimize pathogens and create the most comfortable living environment for the deer herd. A healthy deer will produce high quality antlers."

Deer pens are carefully numbered for easy monitoring and care. In addition to ensuring environmental hygiene, disease prevention is always a top priority at the deer farm of Xuyen Son Cooperative to ensure the stable development of the deer herd and minimize economic risks. "We do not only take care of sick deer but also focus on preventing diseases from the root. Pens, feeders, and waterers are all cleaned and disinfected periodically with lime powder or specialized disinfectants. In addition, full vaccination of deer according to schedule is mandatory to prevent dangerous infectious diseases," said Mr. Write.

Xuyen Son Cooperative focuses on epidemic control. Newly imported deer are quarantined and closely monitored before being integrated into the herd to avoid cross-infection. At the same time, in addition to the basic diet, deer are also supplemented with minerals, vitamins and digestive enzymes to help increase resistance, help them better withstand diseases and adapt to the environment.

Efforts in care and disease prevention have brought positive results to Xuyen Son Cooperative. Mr. Viet shared: "Just from the antlers of 10 deer that have produced products, we have had an income of more than 130 million VND. This is a very encouraging sign and a motivation for the Cooperative to continue to develop."
