The Gianh River Boat Racing Festival is held on the occasion of National Day, September 2, with the aim of praying for favorable weather, bountiful harvests, and full granaries and fields. At the same time, young men in the village also take this opportunity to compete in talent and improve their health to cope with the harsh nature of Quang Tri. The festival aims to honor and preserve national cultural values, while promoting tourism potential and developing the local socio-economy .

Along with the 3 newly recognized heritages, up to now, in Quang Tri province, there are a total of 18 heritages included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and 2 heritages recognized by UNESCO as representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity.
