Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center Nguyen Thanh Quang said: We introduce images of the Co Loa Special National Relic Site, a heritage site with many similarities to the ancient town of Provins and with great potential to become a world cultural heritage.
Co Loa, a legendary land with the largest earthen citadel in Vietnam and Southeast Asia in ancient times, with unique cultural spaces and festivals, interwoven between legend and reality.
"We hope that this additional promotional space will be a bridge for more and more French and international tourists to know the heritages of Hanoi and Vietnam. The Hanoi People's Committee and the Ile-de-France Regional Council officially established relations in 1989. The Hanoi - Ile-de-France cooperative relationship not only has a long history but also creates many extremely effective cooperative activities, programs and projects, spanning many fields: environment and sustainable development, urban planning, economic development, innovation and research, culture, heritage and tourism.
According to the cooperation agreement between the two cities, in recent times, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center has had many effective cooperation activities with heritage and tourism management agencies of the Ile de France Region such as: exchanging experiences and developing activities and projects on heritage conservation, tourism development, restoration of French architectural works at Thang Long Imperial Citadel; exchanging interns, training staff; organizing cross-exhibitions between the two heritages, etc.
Based on the results of the cooperation agreement for the period 2019 - 2022, on October 1, 2024, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center continues to sign a cooperation agreement with Provins Ancient Town in the next phase, focusing on the following activities: Exhibition display, image promotion; tourism promotion; internship, experience exchange; organization of international scientific seminars and conferences; technical support to promote the value of the special national relic Co Loa...
French tourists visit Space
This space to promote the image of the Co Loa Relic Site at Provins is the opening activity for a new phase of cooperation between the two units. Based on the space to promote the Thang Long Imperial Citadel established and displayed since 2022, the Center has updated and supplemented content, images, and video clips introducing the Co Loa Special National Relic Site with the theme: Co Loa, a legendary land.
Including 3 standees, introducing historical values, unique relics and artifacts in Co Loa; Intangible cultural values of Co Loa (festivals, cuisine, customs and practices); Dragon image at Co Loa relic site. The display content is supported by video clips and QR CODES, communication products and gifts.
The exhibition will run from July 2025 to December 2026 at the Saint-Ayoul Cathedral, Provins, France.
