This afternoon (July 6), more than 600 excellent candidates from across the country participated in the national final round of the Asian Mathematics Competition (AIMO 2025) in Hanoi .
Candidates take the Olympic-style exam, taking 120 minutes to complete the paper-based test in English, consisting of 3 parts (A, B, C), requiring logical thinking, critical thinking, analysis and problem solving.
The organizing committee awarded 60 gold medals, 119 silver medals and 175 bronze medals to outstanding candidates in each category.
The Vietnamese team participating in the AIMO 2025 international final in Tokyo, Japan, will be selected from these excellent candidates, the list will be announced later.

To Hai Lam, a 6A1 student at Giang Vo 2 Secondary School (Hanoi), won the gold medal at AIMO 2025 and the silver medal at the 2023 International Olympiad in Malaysia. He shared that the reason he participated in the competition was because he had been passionate about mathematics since he was a child.
“Math helps me train my thinking, discover creative and logical solutions. Every time I solve a difficult problem, I feel like I have conquered a small “mountain”. That makes me more determined to conquer bigger peaks.
For me, AIMO is not just a competition, but an important part of my journey in pursuing mathematics. The medals I have won are not only achievements, but also proof of my efforts, passion and perseverance throughout my studies,” Lam shared.
According to the AIMO 2025 Organizing Committee, this is the first time that artificial intelligence (AI) has been applied to the organization and grading process. active, anti-cheating technology, online test monitoring and detailed analysis by test type are applied.

The AIMO 2025 national final round was organized between Tien Phong newspaper, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and a number of units.
Through the exam, students experience an international standard academic environment, are exposed to exam questions and formats of major competitions, and gradually form a solid foundation for confident global integration.
In particular, AIMO 2025 is one of the practical activities to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
The popularization of math exams in English, the application of AI technology and cloud computing in education not only helps improve the quality of teaching and learning, but also contributes to creating a team of digital citizens, people with enough capacity and courage to master their lives and careers in the future.
