According to Resolution No. 222/2025/QH15 passed by the National Assembly on June 27 and expected to take effect from September 1, Vietnam will establish and operate an international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, which will conduct controlled testing of digital assets, sandboxes...
This is an important part of Vietnam's strong transformation to build modern financial centers in parallel with the important administrative reform that is taking place. This has attracted the attention not only of domestic public opinion but also of international businesses, including those in Switzerland.
On this occasion, VNA correspondent in Switzerland had an interview with Mr. Stefan Winzenried - founder and CEO of Swiss technology company JANZZ.technology - about Vietnam's "transformation" and the expectations of foreign businesses.
“From an investor’s perspective, I have always been interested in Vietnam, including a special affection for Ho Chi Minh City. My relationship with the city began very early when I arrived here in 1992 as a global marketing and strategy consultant and international advertising film producer... Later, I was one of the first international film producers to explore the city’s potential for major projects. I immediately fell in love with this wonderful city in all its aspects and decided to do something here in the future. That is exactly what I did some 25 years later: choosing Ho Chi Minh City as the first location for our operations in Southeast Asia and opening the first JANZZ.technology office outside the headquarters in Zurich,” said Mr. Winzenried.
In addition to personal factors, Mr. Wizenried believes that there are many strategic reasons that make Ho Chi Minh City the top choice for establishing an international financial center, such as excellent connectivity with other markets in the region, great potential for abundant and dynamic human resources, relatively favorable company establishment procedures, and promising access to the Vietnamese market.
He emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City - as the leading economic center and international connection hub of Vietnam - always brings continuous expansion opportunities for technology businesses like JANZZ.technology.
After the recent administrative restructuring, Mr. Wizenried hopes that Ho Chi Minh City will further consolidate its position, reduce administrative barriers, and create more favorable conditions for long-term investment projects.
Besides Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Winzenried believes that Da Nang is also a prominent name in the development strategy of JANZZ.technology. He shared that he had a meeting with Da Nang's senior leaders in 2023 in Zurich.
Through this meeting, he was reinforced in his belief that Da Nang will certainly play a very important role in the next development direction of JANZZ.technology in Southeast Asia. In particular, with the orientations on developing a regional financial center along with the arrangement and consolidation of the administrative apparatus to optimize resources and enhance regional connectivity, Mr. Winzenried expects Da Nang to have an extremely favorable environment for technology and financial enterprises.
In particular, Mr. Winzenried commented that after merging with Quang Nam province, Da Nang can significantly expand its development space, access more diverse land and human resources, strengthen supply chain connections with industrial parks and seaports... to create a new economic growth pole with a larger scale and outstanding investment attraction potential.
He assessed that reducing administrative agencies and standardizing processes will make it easier for companies like JANZZ.technology to deploy artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in the labor market, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources in Da Nang.
