Diversifying forms of tourism to promote cross-border tourism between Vietnam and China

According to a VNA reporter in China, recently, the Puzhai scenic area in Pingxiang city, Guangxi province, located on the China-Vietnam border, was officially opened, becoming a new cultural and tourist highlight attracting much attention in the border area.

Mr. Hoang Kien Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Tourism, Sports , Radio and Television of Pingxiang City, said that in recent years, the city has been constantly striving to develop tourism, taking advantage of unique border resources to create diverse cultural and tourism experiences, and the summer cross-border tourism market is showing a vibrant trend.

In recent years, Pingxiang City has taken advantage of the unique advantages of the Friendship Pass Scenic Area to vigorously promote border tourism and launch high-quality 1-day and 2-day cross-border tours from the city to Lang Son (Vietnam).

Chinese tourists can easily go through exit procedures to Lang Son with their citizen identification cards to experience unique customs and enjoy local cuisine such as filter coffee and spring rolls...

The cultural and natural landscapes at the Friendship Pass Scenic Area complement each other. Attractions such as the Friendship Pass Fortress and the French-style building, the Center for Exchange of Chinese and International Civilizations, etc., provide visitors with a rich historical and cultural experience.

According to Mr. Hoang Kien Hung, the synchronous infrastructure and entertainment projects around Huu Nghi Quan are constantly being expanded, in which the Po Chai scenic area is one of the important achievements, marking the upgrading of Po Chai from a traditional border gate to a cross-border tourist destination.

Currently, there are dozens of merchants who have settled in this neighborhood to do business, of which Vietnamese merchants account for 1/3 with the goal of striving to build the "Sleepless City of Po Chai" so that tourists coming here have the opportunity to enjoy Vietnamese cuisine and participate in exchange activities with Vietnamese people.

As a Vietnamese trader who has lived and done business in Po Chai for 23 years, Ms. Lam Thich Tuong shared that Po Chai is an important fulcrum for trade exchanges between people on the Vietnam-China border.

Currently, the street with Vietnamese and Chinese cultural styles has been put into operation, thereby attracting tourists from both countries and abroad to visit and experience border tours, thereby bringing prosperous development to the locality.

In addition to the Po Chai scenic area, many new forms of tourism experiences have been deployed around Bang Tuong such as outdoor camping areas, among which the self-driving tour through the border gate has become a new highlight of tourism in the Vietnam-China border area.

Currently, Bang Tuong is working closely with Vietnamese travel companies to launch a 15-day, 14-night tour that can take you to Southern Vietnam to meet the diverse needs of tourists.

Statistics show that last year, the total number of visitors entering and exiting Pingxiang reached 2.48 million.
