Innovation in teaching methods

According to Dr. Chu Van Huong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Principal of Ton Duc Thang Political School, the Party Committee of the school has surveyed the annual training needs of localities, departments, branches, sectors, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations.

On that basis, the school cooperates with the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee to advise the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee to issue a training plan that is suitable for practice and organizes quality and effective teaching. Thereby, meeting the requirements of industrialization, modernization, international integration and building a streamlined and effective political apparatus.

After having a plan, the school's Party Committee concretizes it with resolutions, work programs, builds progress, and strictly organizes implementation. Over the past 5 years, the Party Committee has led the opening of 511 classes with 44,775 students, exceeding the plan by 16.06%.

The Party Committee pays attention to the work of building a team of lecturers. Currently, the school has 7 PhDs, 7 lecturers are training for PhDs, the rest are mainly masters. 100% of lecturers are trained in modern teaching methods, updated with new knowledge; regularly participate in training courses of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, provincial-level seminars; at the same time, promote scientific research, summarize practices, contribute to improving teaching quality.

“The school’s Party Committee focuses on innovating methods, promoting lecturers’ strengths, and ensuring scientific and practical values. Lectures are strictly evaluated; new lecturers must pass a scientific council before teaching. The school also invites prestigious guest lecturers with practical experience to teach, especially professional skills classes,” said Dr. Chu Van Huong.

Tight, modern training management

The Party Committee of Ton Duc Thang Political School has led the innovation of management work, institutionalizing regulations and policies into specific regulations. The school has applied technology in management by camera, fingerprint attendance, helping to monitor effectively, improve discipline and order.

The Board of Directors, faculties, departments, lecturers, homeroom teachers and class committees coordinate closely, promote responsibility, create a democratic, disciplined and fair pedagogical environment, contributing to improving training effectiveness.

The Party Committee attaches importance to political and ideological education, regularly propagates and thoroughly grasps tasks, and creates unity of will and action. Monthly political news meetings help lecturers and students grasp the situation, strengthen their political will, and feel secure in studying and practicing. Direct dialogue activities between the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, lecturers and students also contribute to resolving difficulties and creating consensus.

Inspection and supervision work has been strengthened by the Party Committee. Party cells, including student Party cells, have promoted their role in monitoring and timely rectification. The Party Committee's Inspection Committee has proactively advised and organized thematic inspections, helping to improve leadership capacity and task performance.

Dr. Chu Van Huong emphasized: “The work of training political theory and professional skills for cadres is an especially important task to standardize the team, improve political capacity, creatively apply Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, the Party's guidelines and policies, and State laws into practice. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to strengthen the leadership role of the Party, Party committees at all levels in general and the Party Committee and Party Committee of Ton Duc Thang Political School in particular in this work in the new period”.
