Độc lập - Tự do - Hạnh phúc

Remembering Uncle Ho's poem, I move forward.

In the journey of national independence, each place on the land of Vietnam bears historical marks. In Cam Giang commune, Thai Nguyen province, Na Tu historical site is not only a testament to the resilient revolutionary spirit, but also a red address - where President Ho Chi Minh's footprints are imprinted.

Where do we need young people?

74 years ago, on March 28, 1951, in Na Tu forest, Uncle Ho visited the Youth Volunteer Unit (YV) that was directly responsible for protecting Na Cu bridge, one of the key areas of enemy bombardment on Highway 3. That day, the 312th Youth Volunteer Unit was honored to welcome Uncle Ho.

After his kind greetings, Uncle Ho encouraged all the cadres and members of the Youth Volunteer Team to have a work plan, overcome difficulties, unite and organize well the emulation work to quickly complete the task. In particular, Uncle Ho dedicated four verses to all the cadres and members of the Youth Volunteer Team 312: "Nothing is difficult/Only fear that the heart is not steadfast/Digging mountains and filling seas/Determination will make it happen".

Uncle Ho's visit to the 312th Youth Volunteer Unit and the content of the four verses were spread, becoming a great source of encouragement and motivation for young cadres and soldiers across the traffic safety front. The four verses are simple but contain a profound philosophy of life, expressing his belief in the youth and will of the Vietnamese people. To this day, those verses have become the motto of life and the slogan of action for many generations of Vietnamese youth on the journey of building and defending the Fatherland.

Na Tu relic is where Uncle Ho placed his trust, aroused the will to rise up and the spirit of "wherever there is a need, there is a youth, wherever there is difficulty, there is a youth". Every year, the relic welcomes thousands of students, youth union members, cadres and soldiers of the armed forces to visit, study and report their achievements to Uncle Ho.

Activities such as: Ceremony to admit new members; Ceremony to report achievements to Uncle Ho; Commendation of advanced youth following Uncle Ho's teachings; Journeys to the source, lighting candles in gratitude... are organized by local authorities, Youth Union chapters at all levels, and mass organizations inside and outside the province.

Each reporting session and each oath at Na Tu Relic is a step of maturity in awareness, a milestone for young people to reflect on themselves, to make more efforts in studying, working and contributing.

Comrade Hoang Hai Ha, Deputy Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Youth Union, shared: We always consider educating revolutionary traditions for young people at Na Tu Historical Site as a central and continuous task. This is not only an opportunity for young people to understand history but also to remind them of their responsibilities to their homeland and country.

Na Tu relic is not only a historical site but also a sacred space, a place that inspires ideals of life, patriotism and the will to overcome difficulties for the young generation. The values that are fostered here are precious materials to educate today's young generation to be steadfast in ideology, steadfast in ideals, and not afraid to commit to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

In the coming time, Thai Nguyen Provincial Youth Union will continue to strengthen activities such as: Organizing the forum "Youth with revolutionary ideals"; Seminars and exchanges with historical witnesses in Na Tu; Deploying the model "Each member has a historical story"; Building a digital archive of Na Tu relics associated with digital transformation in propaganda and traditional education for children and teenagers.

Overcoming difficulties to build homeland

Promoting the value of Na Tu Historical Relic, on March 18, 1996, the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) decided to recognize and rank Na Tu Historical Relic as a National Historical Relic. In 2012, the Na Tu Youth Union Historical Relic was received by Bac Kan Provincial Youth Union to manage, operate, exploit and promote its cultural and historical values.

In 2015, the Relic Site was invested in by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to expand, restore, and beautify. From October 2022, Bac Kan Provincial Youth Union launched the model of "Digitizing Na Tu Historical Relic Site". Digitization helps the relic come to life through 3D imaging technology. The Provincial Youth Union also built a Facebook account: Na Tu Historical Relic Site.

According to information from the Na Tu Historical Site Management Board: Since the beginning of the year, the site has welcomed over 2,000 visitors and incense-offering visitors. Currently, the Na Tu Historical Site Management Board has 10 people working part-time.

Na Tu is the place where His footsteps were left, the place that lit up the ideals of life for the youth. From this historical land, many generations of young people have grown up, continuing the heroic tradition, ready to overcome difficulties, and devote themselves to every path to build their homeland and country.

The four verses that Uncle Ho gave to the youth volunteers that year have become a guiding principle for many generations of Vietnamese youth. Especially, on the threshold of a new era - the era of national development, let us pause and reflect on Uncle Ho's four verses to become more determined to overcome difficulties and build our homeland.
