Musician Hoang Van (1930 – 2015) is one of the great names in Vietnamese music . With his extensive musical knowledge, serious artistic work spirit and strong patriotism, the musician created works that have a lasting vitality in the hearts of the public. Through his works, musician Hoang Van has contributed with many generations of musicians to foster love for the Fatherland, arouse national pride and the will to build the country. He was honored to be awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Literature and Arts in 2000.

Musician Hoang Van has left behind a rich legacy, with more than 700 works of diverse genres and forms: songs, choirs, film music, symphonies, instrumental music, children's music... With the harmonious combination of European classical music and folk music, his works not only have artistic value but are also valuable documents serving the research of culture, society and history of Vietnamese music. In April 2025, the collection of works by musician Hoang Van was recognized by UNESCO as a World Documentary Heritage. This collection is not only valuable works bearing the musician's mark but also reflects one of the historical turning points of Vietnamese music, the changes of the country and the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people through many periods.
The art program “For Everlasting” introduces the typical works of musician Hoang Van. In particular, the program is directly performed by musician Hoang Van’s two children: conductor Le Phi Phi – conductor of the music night and Dr. Le Y Linh – scriptwriter of the program.
According to Ho Guom Theater, the program “For Ever After” is not only a space to honor the music of musician Hoang Van but also a testament to the lasting vitality of works that stand the test of time, have artistic value and influence in the hearts of music lovers of many generations in the country and abroad.
The content of the works in the program focuses on the theme of praising the Communist Party of Vietnam, praising the great President Ho Chi Minh, praising the exemplary soldiers, including the People's Public Security Forces. Those works carry the strong resonance of the homeland and the country and are pure but also majestic melodies carrying the memories and ideals of a generation of musicians and soldiers on the cultural front; they are the voice from the heart representing a peace- loving nation.
The art program “For the Future” consists of 2 chapters. Chapter I “Reminiscence” is a selection of works, recalling historical milestones and future aspirations recorded in the sounds of the musician’s own life. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy “Symphony No. II”, “Remembrance” (Chapter I). One of the emotional highlights of the program is the musical composition of the poem “Night Scene” by President Ho Chi Minh, restored by conductor Le Phi Phi from the author’s original text. In addition, there are revolutionary songs that have stood the test of time such as “I am a miner”, “That soldier”, “Transportation song”. In particular, the work “Quang Binh, my homeland” is renewed with the combination of the moon lute by People’s Artist Co Huy Hung and the Symphony Orchestra, a creative combination of tradition and modernity.

Chapter II “For the Future” opens up a bright and vibrant space, expressing the spirit of construction and the beauty of a peaceful country. From the emotional transition point through the work “Lullaby in the Fireworks Night”, the program takes viewers to childhood memories through the Suite for children: “I love my school”, “The yellow-ringed bird”, “The season of blooming royal poinciana flowers”. Along with that are melodies spanning across the country’s homelands such as: “Tay Nguyen love song”, “Sailor’s heart song”, “Singing about today’s rice plants”, “Song of the people’s teacher”... The program ends with the mashup “For today, for tomorrow, for the future”, like a song of joy, praising peace, love and the eternal aspiration of the Vietnamese people.
The program “For Ever After” will take place at Ho Guom Theater on the nights of July 24 and 25.
