After the match, the head coach and the Polish stars took turns praising the Vietnamese team. Among them, libero Aleksandra especially praised the tactics of Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team.
Polsat Sport newspaper quoted her recent statement: "Vietnam surprised us. The way they played was really different. With this style of play, it was really difficult for us to prepare.
During the match, there were times when I felt like I had to relearn volleyball. Vietnam's style of play did not exist on the previous analysis tape. They gave us a big lesson."
Besides the great efforts of his students, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet deserves praise for applying flexible tactics in the match against Poland.
Throughout the first and fourth games, the Vietnamese girls blocked the ball very well, minimizing the powerful smashes of Polish superstar Stysiak. On the other hand, the times Vietnam actively attacked also created some surprises for their opponents.
"We learned a big lesson from Vietnam. In matches like this, the whole team must focus from the very first moves, constantly learn and gain experience," Aleksandra added.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will enter the second match - against Germany at 5:00 p.m. today (August 25) at the 2025 Volleyball World Championship taking place in Thailand.
Compared to Poland, Germany is rated slightly lower, but still ranked 11th in the world, and is also considered an overwhelmingly strong opponent compared to Vietnam.
