Once a special forces soldier participated in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, returning home, veteran Nguyen Gia Khiem in Phat Tich commune constantly trained and strived to develop the economy . In 2012, he established Phat Tich Construction Limited Liability Company. Mr. Khiem shared: "In the construction field, the most important factor is to construct according to the design, ensuring the quality of the project and labor safety."

Over the years, his company has won bids for many projects such as: Yen Phong 1 and 2 High School; Ly Thuong Kiet High School; Gia Binh General Hospital, Tien Du General Hospital, Provincial General Hospital; Provincial Center for Disease Control; Provincial Military Command; Bac Ninh Medical College; Tran Quoc Toan Primary and Secondary School... Each year, the company earns a revenue of more than 90 billion VND, pays more than 4 billion VND in taxes, and has profits of billions of VND. Up to now, the company has created stable jobs for more than 100 workers (70% of whom are children and grandchildren of war veterans) with an income of 7-25 million VND/person/month.
To retain workers, veteran Nguyen Gia Khiem cares for them, ensures them with social insurance, health insurance, holiday bonuses, etc. With many efforts, over the past 5 years, veteran Nguyen Gia Khiem has continuously achieved the title of "Excellent production and business veteran" at the Central level.
In 1995, veteran Ngo Van Chien in Van Mon commune rented and renovated more than 2,000 square meters of local land to build a comprehensive livestock farm. Initially, his family invested more than 40 million VND to raise pigs, geese, and ducks, then switched to raising egg-laying and hatching chickens, providing breeding stock for local people and neighboring areas. Up to now, Cuong Thinh Livestock Cooperative, of which he is the Director, has 4,000 chickens of Egyptian breed, Luong Phuong hybrid Ho, and Mia hybrid Luong Phuong. The egg-laying chicken farm is built according to a closed model with a livestock waste treatment system.

Veteran Ngo Van Chien said: "To produce many high-quality chicken breeds, I apply technology in crossbreeding. For chickens to grow well, we must choose suitable food, combine with cleaning the barn, vaccinate to prevent and control epidemics...". In addition, he invested in 9 incubators, 3 hatchers, on average every 4 days he produces a batch of nearly 20,000 chickens of all kinds, serving people in all the northern provinces. Currently, the Cooperative creates regular jobs for more than 30 workers with an average income of 8 million VND/person/month.
Promoting the spirit of being a role model, many veteran cadres and members actively participate in building the movement "Veterans in production and business". Colonel Dao Anh Dung, Vice Chairman of the Veterans Association of Bac Ninh province said: "In order for the movement to be widely and effectively implemented, the Association at all levels proactively promotes activities, creates conditions for members to connect, exchange and learn experiences, find, build product brands; support members to access preferential capital sources; replicate good models and creative ways of doing business in economic development".
Over the past 5 years, the Association at all levels had had 190 members awarded certificates of good production and business by the Central Association, and 539 members awarded certificates of good production and business by the Provincial Veterans Association.
