According to the plan approved by the Hanoi People's Committee, the first-level enrollment period for the 2025-2026 school year will take place from July 1 to July 18, 2025. Hanoi City will maintain two stable forms: online enrollment and direct enrollment.
In particular, online enrollment will be implemented first, from July 1 to July 9. Specifically, enrollment for first graders will be from July 1 to July 3; enrollment for 5-year-olds in kindergarten will be from July 4 to July 6; enrollment for sixth graders will be from July 7 to July 9.
To register for online admission, parents access the Hanoi City Primary School Admissions Portal and follow the instructions.
In case parents have not registered for admission online, they can register directly at the school from July 12 to July 18, 2025.

Hanoi Departmentof Education and Training said that in the 2025-2026 school year, the whole city plans to enroll 95,000 preschool children; 52,000 kindergarten children (5 years old); 155,000 first graders and 161,000 sixth graders.
The Department will maintain stability in terms of time, method, and all regulations related to enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year, avoiding disruptions and difficulties for parents and students. Educational institutions have been asked to complete preparations, from facilities, human resources to technology systems, and be ready to meet the requirements for online enrollment registration.
In addition, the Department requires that during the online enrollment period, educational institutions are not allowed to arbitrarily collect additional contributions outside of the regulations. Enrollment must be conducted publicly, transparently, objectively and fairly, aiming to ensure comprehensive, quality education for all students.
To ensure the right candidates, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires schools to make a list of students applying for admission according to their area, coordinate with the commune-level police to verify their residence, and absolutely not require parents to submit a certificate of residence or notify the identification code.
