One of the key goals is to evenly distribute OCOP products from the center to communes and wards, ensuring harmonious circulation between regions.

After the merger, the OCOP Program in Dong Nai province "upgraded" with 439 products of 146 entities recognized and ranked from 3 stars or higher; of which 11 products were recognized by the Central Government as reaching 5 stars.

This is the result of a persistent process, from the idea generation stage, perfecting the production process to developing the brand. At the same time, it shows that the quality of Dong Nai OCOP products after merging with Binh Phuoc is increasingly improved, gradually affirming its reputation in the market.

To ensure that the province's OCOP products are distributed evenly to increase strength, many good and effective methods have been implemented quite effectively by the Department of Industry and Trade and supermarkets and goods distribution points.

At Co.opmart Dong Xoai supermarket, a separate display space for Dong Nai OCOP products is conveniently located. Enterprises and cooperatives that meet the requirements will be connected and have their products introduced directly. Thanks to that, OCOP products reach consumers more effectively.

Vu Thi Ai Lien and her daughter in Binh Phuoc ward were very excited to be able to buy Tan Trieu grapefruit specialties and many 5-star OCOP products of Dong Nai province right in Binh Phuoc ward. The good quality of the products, many products are deeply processed, ensuring quality with beautiful designs and packaging, making her extremely satisfied.

“After the merger of the two provinces, I saw many products from Dong Nai center such as Tan Trieu grapefruit, fruits from Dong Nai and many other goods present here. This way of distributing OCOP products is great, I can buy my favorite products without having to go far like before!”, Ms. Lien expressed.

Vu Thi Ai Lien and her children happily choose Tan Trieu grapefruit right in Binh Phuoc ward.

Currently, Dong Nai has a developed commercial infrastructure with Lotte supermarket system, Co.opmart and a network of convenience stores and business households. When the province first came into operation, retail units quickly circulated goods between regions, prioritizing local OCOP products.

Mr. Do Doan Thanh, Head of Marketing Department of Co.opmart Dong Xoai Supermarket, Binh Phuoc Ward, stated: “Exploiting the goods sources of the two regions of Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai helps us diversify OCOP products. That not only helps farmers in Dong Nai province have more output and more markets, but is also an opportunity for Co.opmart as well as other supermarkets in the whole system to exploit more quality products, thereby diversifying many products to serve consumers”.

Adapt to enhance value

The OCOP 2025 program has many innovations, especially in product evaluation and classification to suit the two-tier government model. People's Committees of districts, towns and cities are required to complete the recognition of 3-star or higher OCOP products in the third quarter.

All supermarkets and convenience stores in the province are encouraged to display OCOP products.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Long, Director of Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade emphasized: “The OCOP program is a key political task, associated with new rural construction, trade promotion, supply-demand connection and local product consumption. The goal by 2025 is that 80% of OCOP products will be available on e-commerce platforms, associated with community ecotourism.”

With the support of all levels and sectors, the OCOP program continues to be a lever to increase the value of local products and promote sustainable rural economic development. OCOP entities expect to be supported to connect and promote products more widely, especially in exchanging goods between the center and remote areas.

Ms. Nham Nu Ngoc Nhung, owner of OCOP Nham Nhung facility, Tan Hung commune, shared: “The market is now larger, so we really want to consign and exchange goods, especially OCOP products in our locality in the central area of Dong Nai. In return, we also hope to consume 4-star and 5-star OCOP products from the provincial center.”
